How do?
So local club is looking to get a Necromunda campaign going. And I’ve plumped for Delaque.
To semi-future proof, I’ve got two of the basic Gang boxes. And whilst I can mostly do matches pistols as a result, I’m wondering if that’s such an advantage?
So if you’ve got a Delaque Gang, I’d like to hear your thoughts on ‘go to’ basic Gang kit out.
In terms of weapons, I tend to favour Pistols in Necromunda, as tactically I tend to favour getting in close, and really banking those BS modifiers. But. I’m very much open to advice and tips from those of other schools of thought

Delaque isn't really a pistols gang. They're a sneaky gang. They can certainly get in close fast, but they want to deliver nastier firepower than just a pistol. That said, their pistols cost 5 creds, so its a solid enough backup weapon, that I'd put it on almost any champion, and partially into a campaign, almost any character.
Web gauntlets are, low key, the best melee weapon in the game for cost. They are, essentially, kill on wound. For a champion, that's 3 kill on wound attacks.
The webber is a great flame based weapon, at STR 5 it will ruin anyone's day it hits.
They really do benefit from close in big payoff weapons with infiltrate in my mind. But they can also do a fairly good shooting gang. The main issue with ranged shooting is van saar just win that stand off. So I do prefer the close in, big boom style.
A melta gun is great, especially against van saar and goliath with their small, hyper expensive elite gangs, to allow you to remove the biggest threat right off. And, again, the webber is just the ace suppression tool.

Great advice already, you can have good fun with Delaque without them being overpowered as Van Saar are.
If you want to ruin other peoples day, get the Spyker as soon as credits allow (with Displacer Field). He's just incredibly useful, and arguably broken for the point cost.

Overwatch and long rifles. We have two delaque players in our local league which includes every gang except GSC.
The two delaque players faced off against one another for a game. Their conclusion: Overwatch should be banned when we start the next round. And that's with us playing with very terrain dense boards.

It’s been ages since I read my rule book, on account unless I’m playing I don’t really retain stuff, so why bother?
Am I right in thinking that certain XP level up results now allow us to choose between WS and BS boosts?

Yep, web gauntlets are pretty sweet. And I can make dodgy one liners, such as ‘stick around’, ‘he’s tied up right now’ and, erm.....’caught in a trap, he can’t break out’.
