Whatever. I doubt it hurts them to throw in a bit of free stuff to keep the momentum going.

This is insane.

At the moment, they are asking 200.000 for just a single added dragon sculpt (still.. nice dragon and all).

Imagine someone else here.. perhaps a indie-sculptor.. would throw up a Kickstarter to fund the sculpt and production of just a single dragon, even a nice and shiny one, and would set the limit at 200.000??

Hell, 200.000 is just what the entire Relic Knights KS passed a day or two ago... for the whole game with all extras.

This dragon is certainly happening, the sum is rising 1-2k per minute steadily. We'll overshoot it by another 50k, probably.

Reaper's a great company, but I thought the point of Kickstarter was to help new startups and whatnot to get funding, not to provide a platform for well-established businesses to get funding from their fanbase.

Eh launching a new line for an established business is perfectly fine for kickstarter. If anything it helps the little guys by gaining exposier for kickstarter as a whole and potentiall other kickstarts. I started with a game from an established company but have since backed 12 projects of which 7 are new companies I wouldhave never otherwise seen.

I'd prefer a Kickstarter campaign with a ton of benefit to me the "investor", than a public stock offering which accomplishes the same thing: retooling/machinery upgrades (not naming which company did this) but all I get is higher prices, crapcast, and a company focused on earnings/share and profit.

I think servers all over this are burning up...

Servers are about to give out, I don't think we'll manage another 90k in 50 minutes. The pledges slowed to a crawl the last few minutes.

Hope kickstarter has enough bandwidth to cover all the kids hitting f5 for the next hour or so

Wouldn't be too bad - but it took me 3 minuted to get the stupid pledge manager page to load. Hopefully they take a part of their 5% haul off this and get a descent load balanced server set up.
