Grundz I'm not sure about the generator on your other cobbler, but i was messing with a similar design to the one in the manor on another server. It can use multiple blocks rather than one to be passed around to multiply the speed of it.

Sounds like an old steam train at full speed.


The pain is placement though, you need to get them both powered at the exact time to start it off otherwise it will crash and jam. So far I haven't found a way to do so, so if I were to turn this one off it would jam up.

It was also able to gain grass will running.

the one in the manor is kind of simplified,

however that doesn't actually increase the speed of my cobbler in theory, once the cobble forms on top of the glass block, electricity can pass through it, this powers the piston underneath to fire it within 1 tic, pushing the block out of the way, the glass doesn't transmit electricity so it resets again. The pistons that push horizontally are controlled by the timer, though if it were fancier i would use repeaters with delays to control the whole system.
This way it fires perfectly and won't get in the way of the forming cobble block if it is laggy
The one in the basement of my castle is far superior, and much faster, but used a ton of resources to build, it uses 3 different lava sources that feed 3 seperate streams of cobble that all converge.

Ah k I see, this probably wouldn't really allow cobble to form with the speed it's running at.

Only use we've found for it so far is as the most complex sand/gravel breaker... -.-

Yeah, the trick is totally that glass block and interrupting the circuit, that is what makes it work for the most part, otherwise you have to adjust repeaters based on how laggy the server is, or set it to be very slow.

You might be able to set the grass blockx by using 2 nonsticky pistons to place the blocks

however this is moot, you can do the same thing, even faster, with only 1 piston

place a sticky piston facing horizontally and put a dirt block in front of it, then dig 1 block down so the piston when fired will block the hole with the dirt

put a redstone torch into the hole, make it an inverter that powers the piston when the piston is retracted, when it extends it will cut its own power, retract, and give itself power again.
Then you can wire a button up to it to invert the power again incase the thing stopps working, this is how the old start area cobbler works.

now you have a 2 tick timer to attach to stuff which is about as fast as it gets without screwing around with repeater loops set to 0

Basically using redstone and pistons together so that it can cut or give itself its own power is the way to go when it comes to fancy circuits

I have pretty much the same engine as you described for my own cobbler.

The annoying part is if you make it too fast though the sticky piston seems to detach I think I may just edit my own cobbler a little to make the power go through the cobble to loop it. At the moment it's kind of slow as the piston seems to get in the way sometimes. The engine itself has an alright speed, it's just not efficient enough at the moment.

It's pretty basic.

All it has is a lever to power the piston and break the loop, keeping the piston at the cobble extended when not in use. It's also the main problem with it as it's independent to the cobble generation.

Edit:
Fixed up the smoothstone generator I had. Couldn't figure out how to get your design to work with it, but got something somewhat close. Problem is it has to be a little slow in order to generate properly and not have the lava flow stick to where the stone is generated. It is also somewhat more compact than the older one I had since the clock is now internal.

I'm still unsure of the fountain though and will probably remove it.



The lava and water on the outside of it are purely cosmetic so as to keep the same outward appearance as the old design. The whole thing is jammed behind it.



It runs at a decent speed though, fast enough to sort of keep pace with mining. At least a bit faster than the old one which due to the external clock was a bit random with its speed. This one however can jam sometimes, but is easily fixed by placing dirt or something where the lava flow replaces where the stone would be created. Which is in front of the repeater in the first of these two pictures.

all you do is apply power to the block as it forms, once it forms power can pass through it, this power goes to the stickey piston with a glass block on top, pushing the newly formed block out of the way, glass doesn't transmit power so it cuts its own power and resets.
you need a repeater set to 1 tic on the stickey piston or it will sometimes "let go" of the block

I've never been so good with schematics.
That's sort of what the current now does, I just had to mess a little so it made smoothstone as it mines faster. Though it sort of works sideways.



It's a modification on this design, simplifying it to one simple lever and removing the detection.
Will probably try to make it faster in time, but it seems alright for now.

I wasnt aware you could make smoothstone with lava, is it just if lava falls into the water? I'll have to wiki it when i get home.

Lava has to fall down on it from above.

I'm afraid that the beds never got made, but anything in the supply room is free for all except the chest that's off the ground- That one belongs to RaptorsTallon. There was some wool there somewhere, and trees have been established around the back. Just build yourself a house if you like.

Okay, I didn't know about any 'off limits' chests. We've all been using all the chests in the supply room. The floating one in the corner is for food supplies, there's one for mob drops, and most of the rest are for stone and dirt.

I been using the bed in that one shack, which I believe I was first to use- but it's been 'claimed' by someone.

Don't worry about the "Off-limits" Chest. If 3 pumpkins and 5 yellow dye were that important, they wouldn't have been there.
As for the shack-I'll find out who has claimed it and enlighten them.

It's ok, I took the pumpkins from that chest yesterday and i'm not bothered about the dye. I only set up the chest as a place to store stuff as my inventory was full at the time.

I'm pretty sure you're safe purple. According to the map, you guys are a hefty distance apart.

Okay then, I guess we finally may have found the third Stronghold.

If it's dark, empty, and full of mobs, it ain't "mine". Strongholds are community use anyways.

There's a tunnel system, but no rails as of yet.

There are plenty of rails made and ready to be placed in The Manor.
However, the finer logistics haven't been decided yet.

I personally wasn't a fan of the old system because it was counterintuitive for walkers. It was, however, really compact.

I have connected my Nether tunnel to the Nether rail tunnel.

Guys the best freakin mod is the Zeppelin mod. it lets you create anything you want for a zeppelin or a boat.

I made a big as bomber by putting TNT on the bottom then some redstone and a switch. It can move through the air and all you do is flip the switch then Kabloooweee. I'll link it.
