I think it's slightly quicker to mine, plus if you have a silk touch pick you can get smoothstone from it.

So I ahve a request... can someone help me make a simple piston trap door which hides a ladder?

I'm building an expansion to one of my buildings (building downwards), and figured this would be a great and easy way to have it blend in to the rest of the building without changing the aesthetics.
I'm sure you can figure out which one I'm referring to, Corpses, considering you helped me make it and it's mostly a secret, heh.

I know exactly which you mean and as I said before I'd love to help you with that just as I'd love to be working on the manor and the rail at the moment.
Hell I'd also like to be playing skyrim or dead island (which just finished downloading on steam) but no
Get whatever is wrong sorted corpses, I need people to play Dead Island with some day!

It's purely a software issue and happened to my previous graphics card too so it is possible for someone to fix it completely remotely via the internet if they knew what they were doing...

If any of you kind souls that know a thing or two about computers have any idea's on how to fix this it would get me back on the server a lot quicker.
The Control Panel was optional last time I checked (you only need the driver). Have you tried a custom or minimal install?
The control panel is currently integrated into the driver itself, pretty much every other part of the update is optional in the custom install version.

Out of curiosity, what drivers are you installing it with?
GeForce 285.62 Drivers?

I have 2 so I can help. One is also able to open from either side so as to be able to use the escape tunnel to break into my own house if someone locks me out again.
Well, it needs to be fixed by GW2 release by the latest.
May need to take it somewhere to get it checked, or at the least post on some tech forums about it.

Im busy with, in my PC Gamer Version that resets time, with making a floating fortress I already spawn on it, and it has this awsome pool that has lava-lights
Actually I'm not sure if it's possible for this particular trap door to even work after looking at it more.
The room is 5x5x3 open space, and you have as much room as it takes beneath that open space. In the middle of the room is a pillar.
I need it to e like this:
Any one of the squares marked T can work for this. It would need to drop down and create a staircase or otherwise reveal a ladder or something, if that's possible.

It's horizontal, that's the room and the surrounding hallways. I just need one of the T blocks to open, and be able to get through that space vertically.
If it's done through creating a hidden piston staircase, that's fine. If it's done through simply moving blocks out of the way to reveal a ladder, that's also fine.

Water is evil. I accidentally placed one in my house and it took out all my torches and left me in the dark and A water tower I made turned on me and flooded my mine! Its dark in there... water is mean

So just put the piston for it under the wall since you said it can be any of those T spaces. Horizontal and with and xor gate so as to have it toggle from both above and under it. Although you could go much simpler and have a wire running the the piston allowing two levers to be placed on it. It does however require an invertor to stay powered all the time. The ladder would thus stop one block below the floor, but be hidden.
Can you draw something in ascii art for it? I'm having a hard time mentally figuring out what you mean.
Just placement of pistons.
The idea I had after reading yours was the following (vertical map)
With the general idea being first the sticky piston below activates twice and pulls the floor back, then the one under the wall activates twice and pulls the floor above the ladder to it.
On second thought, this wouldn't work very well either cause you'd have to reset it every time.. bluh.

That one wouldn't work, as the piston wouldn't ahve anywhere to push the block to.

The problem with that (unless they've changed the behaviour recently) is that the piston moves the pillar block, but there's nothing to actually move it back.
You could always do this:
That would block the opening, but it wouldn't really HIDE it...
