Hi folks, apologies if this is the wrong forum. Put it here because I'm specifically only interested in 40k models from discounted retailers.

Basically I'm going through a bit of financial difficulty these last few months due to not being paid at work. That part will resolve itself but in terms of buying 40k, I am looking to get the Primaris Librarian (regular armour) for a project. Although I normally go to the local store, as I don't usually mind paying full price, right now I'm trying to get discount where I can. I've been looking at the model on a couple different sites and found TripleHelixWargames to be the cheapest for this kit, coming in at £20.88 including delivery. But I'm just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere cheaper, better reliability, etc? I'm not great at the savvy online discounted shopping so I'd appreciate any help.

GW mandates online discounts is maximum of 15%, though you can get more in-store.

HOWEVER, look for the Warhammer Conquest version of the Primaris Librarian - I think it was issue #8, which cost a lot less.

I often use darksphere.co.uk who are very reliable and have good prices. The Primaris Librarian from them plus postage comes to 20p less than the one you mention, I believe. That sort of discount is about as good as you can get from a proper retailer as far as I’ve seen. Alternatively there is currently one for sale on eBay for £19 including postage, I’m not familiar with the seller myself but they have high rating.

I use old metal models. I collected them over the years, surfing ebay.
Stripped lots of them... cheaper but work, not so bad if you are patient I guess.

Not Primaris, but I don't see why you couldn't model and convert with plastic arms and weapons, bits from a primaris kit if primaris kits even have bits any more...

Frankly I ignore the fact of Primaris marines in order to retain my interest in the franchise.

Now, I sadly can't do that, but there are companies in the east that sell a lot of the GW model line for 50/60% the price. And localy if you know the guys you can buy it even cheaper. Not sure if the option exists in western europe though.

A guy at my store bought a SoB army for under 350$, and it was a full 2000pts optimised army, with mulitple tanks.

And there’s always the likes of e-bay. Individuals selling their collection aren’t bound to the 20% discount.

It never ends well

If so that must be an international thing. In the UK you often find legit 3rd party sellers at 20% off RRP. Eg Goblin Gaming and Magic Madhouse.

Yeah, there's a fair few UK third party sellers who do 20%+. I know of a few who do even more than that. I think the highest I've seen is about 25%.

For that model, try Warhammer Conquest for £8...

Otherwise I have got up to 30% from HLS models in Erith, but you need to contact them direct.

Well, you'd have to spend £20 or more for free p&p, but Wayland Games has the new Primaris Librarian for £15.90, or the regular one for £17.89.

When its available, you could get the regular as part of the Killteam commander "Torrvald Orksbane" set for £20 RRP or £15.90 from wayland. That said, I do wonder if GW is discontinuing the commander sets...

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

Hey buddy

Sorry to hear about your difficulties.

If its the phobos one you are after you can buy one straight off ebay BNOS - this is the cheapest I can see at £18.50.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Warhammer-Space-Marines-Primaris-Librarian-in-Phobos-Armour/202758667169?epid=17017343259&hash=item2f355bbba1:g:4MgAAOSwACFdV9mo

Cheapest standard normal libby I can find clocks in at £20.25

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Primaris-Librarian/153641422569?hash=item23c5be0ee9:g:-AMAAOSwiuNde2HT

You will be able to get these cheaper I am sure through uctions/bundles. But you will need to be patient which is the hardest thing about this this hobby IMO.

Element games or Gobling gaming do decent discounts.

P.S. You can also use new release and limited box sets bough at discount and re sell in parts if you are struggling for cash, its a big up front cost but if you hustle up right and can be bothered with it, you can save yourself a pretty penny.
