Jokes for a narrative event next weekend. Finished the "board" last night (it's a tray insert for my Tablewar Case), and comfortably ready.

I'll be using the Blood Angels Codex since they are a Successor chapter.

Super cool. I gotta ask, what's your yellow recipe/plan of attack?

The Polito form is dead, insect. Are you afraid? What is it you fear? The end of your trivial existence?

I dig it, it's as thought the Lamentors have lost so many people that it's a chapter of pure dreads with maybe some primaris replacements. Heh.

Which is awesome.

The yellow recipe was pretty simple:

Basecoat Scale75 (S75) Red Leather, and airbrush S75 Sahara Yellow and S75 Tenere Yellow highlights. I went back in and refined the yellows by hand and added some bright highlights by mixing S75 White Sands with Tenere Yellow. Shade back down with Red Leather.

I don't know what you mean by plan of of attack though, like my gameplan for games?

Yea, my narrative for the army is that the Lamenters are still on their 100-year penitence crusade after the Badab War. Unable to replenish their losses, they've been forced to interr more and more of their heroes into Dreadnoughts in order to continue the absolution of their Chapter. After almost a century of war, it's as if the dead outnumber the living, and yet still even in death they still serve.

Gorgeous! I am actually more interested in the grey then the yellow!

Can you tell me which colors you airbrushed for them? Was it straight over black under coat then just hardlined?

Vallejo Model Color (VMC) Flat Black
VMC Dark Sea Grey
VMC Sea Grey
VMC Medium Sea Grey

I basecoated the black by hand, and then airbrushed the other 3 colors.

S75 Mojave White for the edging. I kept this super minimal and diluted so it wasn't that strong, and only picked out some of the major edges to define shapes.

I like it, but I wish there were more pure black and white checks.

These barely even look like New York cabs :(

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Do you have issue with the VMC Flat Black being heavily textured? I may have just had a bad bottle but it reminded me of the old school flat paints that tended to be almost grainy. I was underwhelmed by it except when I wanted to drybrush metal and then I'd use it because of the aggressive texture that resulted from the VMC Flat Black.

I think you had a bad bottle, or may need to try adding an agitator into the bottle. The one I have is perfect and zero texture.

Thanks! By plan of attack I just mean, in addition to what paints you used, how did you go about applying them, which you have explained! Again really love the Lamenters dreadnought army concept.

This is inspiring. Out of curiosity, how many points is that? How did you do at your event?

I’m seriously considering copying your example here.

It's 1697 points, I believe.

I went 3-1-1 at the event. You can check out my latest P&M post to get a quick run-down. I beat a Dark Angels army, a Raven Guard army, and a Vostroyan Guard army. I drew one of my friends who brought an (almost, he brought 2 Daemon Pricnes) all Dreadnought Death Guard army, and lost to an Ork army.

The army is a lot of fun to play, and it's liberating to only have 9 models. Set up and pack up is so easy!

What boggles my mind is that that's a legal army. You got your HQ's and you got your elites. A couple of vanguard detachments. Boom.

Gorgeous as well, fantastic work.
