Dark Disciples get Hateful Assault even though they are not Astartes ?

I believe this is RAW,,, am I correct or am I missing something ?
Also do you believe this is RAI ?

As an aside, as "infinite" rolls is actually impossible even if the FAQ "allows" it, then it will always be a non-zero chance to pass them all. Eventually the two players will die. If they pass the game on to their decendents, they too will eventually die. And, at the end of it all, the universe will experience heat death and it, too, will die. In the instance of "infinite" hits, we're talking more of functional infinity, rather than literal.

RAW you can't pass the game onto descendants, permissive ruleset. Unless we get an FAQ from GW.

Definitely RAW. Probably not RAI.

Agreed, they're a Dark Apostle's version of Servitors. My Guess is their Heretic Astartes keyword gets changed, or the Chaos Cultist keyword gets added.

depends a bit, the discples are probably more or higher regarded by the gods. I could see them therefore getting more strength so there is a RAI argument to be had.

Altough i do wonder who would care, it isn't like S3 is usefull.
BTW dark disciples seem to get legion traits aswell no?

A Mostly Renegades and Heretics blog.
GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

They have the HERETIC ASTARTES keyword, so they get Hateful Assault.

RaI is meaningless, although one could argue because they aren't mind-wiped meat puppets they should get to benefit.

And yes, they get Legion Traits where Cultists do not.

Using RAI to predict upcoming FAQ changes isn't exactly meaningless. Even a Strict RAW player like yourself can find meaning in guessing what's going to apply to your game even if it doesn't today. People who can agree to a give and take RAI ruleset will find even more meaning.

@BCB

I know its "meaningless" in terms of game play... but that doesn't mean I can't ask for peoples opinions or insights. This forum does not exclude RAI discussions, even though you might XD.

But thanks for answering the question and thanks for everyones insights. Curious to see if it is FAQed.. not like this is broken or over powered. Just thought it was weird.

Agreed. This forum explicitly allows HIWPI discussion. RAW is just a tool, it is not everything.

One ability for one unit that will rarely if ever be an option let alone people checking to see if it works... the FAQ is probably pretty low on the priority list.

I never said it shouldn't be brought up or discussed, just that it is meaningless to do so.

RaI my Grey Knights should be able to Deep Strike Turn 1, they are paying the points for it, but they cannot, RaW, because GW changed the RaW (and thus the RaI).

This is of course false. the RAI is everything.

The two are not equivalent, stop trying to equate them.
