Was just looking at the official figures for Rangers of Shadow Deep, in particular pack #3 where one figure is channeling his inner Aragorn and is smoking a pipe, but the 2nd figure is just standing there as if he's waiting for a bus. I'd like the 1st figure, but the 2nd is too dull for me when I already own many rangers already. So the thought struck me, "None of these rangers are tracking ... I don't recall ever seeing any ranger figures tracking." So I'd like a ranger kneeling, closely examining the ground. Don't know how many other people would want that figure though. There is Hero Forge for custom 3d printed figures. If they send me a coupon code again maybe I'll design a pipe smoking or tracking ranger.

In general I favor a mix of action and at the ready poses myself. For squad leader types, I'd like more actual real life hand signals as opposed to the standard pointing arm; the US Army advance or double time (fist closed, arm pumped up and down) would be good. For rank and file games like Kings of War, WHFB or historicals, at the ready poses are easier to rank up, so the dramatic action poses are saved for skirmish or open order games like W40k.

So what figure poses would you like to see? Any system or manufacturer is fine.

I prefer more generic gestures than ones that are linked to specific real world forces (unless the miniature is supposed to represent those specific forces!)

I dunno. I like a variety of poses. I think what I want from a pose is that it communicates the mood and character of the mini.

I vary from figure to figure. Generally I prefer either a relaxed pose or a full action one but not something inbetween.
