Now that the IH errata has dropped (why in the sam-feth they released the FAQ by itself and the errata with the FAQ added on an hour or two later is beyond me), does that mean we can talk about the Salamander preview? Or is this another case of nobody caring about the second codex?

It doesn't say very much so its hard to get hype/cry overpowered.
At the danger of someone discovering the mega combo and me being wrong on the internet, +1 to wound with flamer or melta weapons in tactical doctrine also seems a bit rubbish compared with either IH or IF's devastator buff.
I mean... you can wound knights on 3s with S8 melta. Yay? You can wound marines on 3 with regular flamers. Stop the press.
I mean it will be something to remember that time you get a full unit of flamer aggressors shooting twice with maximum shots from the stratagem with +1 to wound - but I don't see it happening very often.

If they survive til turn two that is... Most of our best flamers and melta are Heavy weapons, which won't benefit from the extra AP of Tactical Doctrine.

there's already a rumor's thread started about Sally's so they've been discussed a bit but yeah, it'll be intreasted to see how Sally's work, they look like they'll be fun but they're not coming off as "OMG PANIC" type army. you'll definaly want lots of flamers and melta for a salamanders army.

Doesn't make them very primaris friendly as there are very few flame armed units for them.
Anyone knows what dialect of english they are speaking in the short, it sounds very strange?

If you can stand still in flamer range of a Knight, your opponent is dumb. Really, really, really dumb.
That means that knight can't charge into opponent's army at all until he has killed the aggressors. If he does then charge, kill target, you are in flame range. Especially if opponent is using successor salamanders so 11" range.

I dont think you can gain both the custom traits and the salamanders traits at the same units. You would have to choose one, right?

Yes, that's exactly what it means. Will Knights struggle to kill off enough Aggressors at range to mitigate the risks? At what point does using the strat become not worth it (# of Aggressors)?
This is a great distraction Carnifex, though. You can't afford to not deal with it and it will mess with the opponent's strategy until he does.
Appropriate for a flamer unit to be a psychological threat, right?

Salamanders super doctrine will be great if Meltas and Flamers ever get better. Right now they're sub par for everyone (meltas more than flamers.)
Their chapter trait, strats, characters, and relics are all solid. So even if their super doctrine isn't so good, they'll probably still do well.
