Hello,

I wanted to make some Noise Marines for an Emperor's Children army, but am still on the fence about shelling out $70 for the Forge World kit (the old conversion kit is... no). So I was looking for some ideas for converting some sonic blasters for the Noise Marines.

Spellcrow also has okay ones, and Pop goes the monkey on shapeways has some as well. Also the old "drop the vehicle accessory sprue gargoyle mouths onto gussied up bolters" option.

I have that sprue around... somewhere.

Also thinking about chopping the tips off some Thousand Son soulflamers. Think that would work, or look too Tzeentch-y?

Haven't worked with them, but from pictures would probably do okay.

If you want to get creative my brother made some years ago by carving away the magazine and barrel from bolters and adding the vents from Astartes backpacks where the barrel should be and a ton of cabling.

Looked surprisingly good.

I can't belive I cant find a picture of them, but I converted most of mine by using the old plastic chaos heavy bolters. Cut the front barrel off and attach one of the many gargoyle heads to the front. Fill in the mouth with green stuff. It looks really good.
