So I did a quick inventory today after I finished my small patrol Elysian force, and I noted
1/ it is the first time I actually finish a project since I began 40k
2/ I still have 12 necromunda models (1 gang and a half), 5 marines, 3 drop pods, a stormraven and a predator to finish (I would say they are half painted) to finally finish my ever growing SM army started 10 years ago, 1 hellhound, 1 chimera, 10 veterans and 30 guards not yet bought (definitely gonna try contrast on these ones) to finish my Armored Battle Group and a chimera and about 10 models to finish my small Inquisition detachment.

It's crazy to think I has time to buy, assemble and paint an Emperor's Children army and an Elysian army before finishing my other IG army or painting my stormraven lol

So I was wondering, what about you ?

And a pair of Mauler Fiends - though these weren't bought for 40k use.

I am soo glad I'm not the only one who falls into this trap

I currently own two unpainted models and it is two rhinos converted to be razorbacks.

It is a vicious cycle indeed! Although to its credit, Contrast Paint has made the painting load so much quicker and better! Great tool for both base job base (Nids) and for extra effects (CSM!)

25 years away from 40k

Bought Dark Imperium 2-3 months ago as a taster. Finished those.

All my SoB must wait until I thoroughly read the new dex; I'll be painting multiple Orders, and I need to figure out which detachments go with which Order. I may play mono sisters, but I still have Order Soup.

Also, the Blood Angel Termies from Space Hulk and the Spacewolves from Tooth and Claw, though these are very low priority for me.

I have a lot of projects I dip in and out of.
My small Custodes force needs just one Captain on Jetbike painted, after I build it, when I eventually buy it.

I've got the 5 Screamers of Tzeentch left to build from the Start Collecting box, which along with a box of Blue and Brims will give me a small, highly impractical detachment.

I've got a box of Am-bots to make an Ork Warboss and Big Mek in Mega-armour.

Then there's a lot of other stuff. Going to try folding Skitarii, Guard and maybe the odd Chaos Cultist and GSC bits in to a modest "probably not Traitor" Guard force that could be used with Chaos, Imps or GSC if need be. Nids, and Tau on the backburner. Ongoing CSM stuff. Eldar project is on hold til I see if they're going to give us any more new models. Blood Angels and Death Guard from Conquest as and when I feel like it. Going to get one the Sisters when they arrive.

I get bored of the same stuff all the time and looking to build a modest force for lots of different armies so friends can play small games without having to buy loads of stuff.

Trying to clear my desktop before the Sisters release.

No, no, no! It doesn't count if you don't even own it yet.

Just read through everybody's lists. Impressive and/or depressing depending on which way you want to look at it.

Mine is... well. It's long. Most of these are not only unpainted, but also unassembled. I don't play with unpainted models and I enjoy mixing it up between building and painting, so I tend to build at roughly the same rate I paint.

But yes, at the average speed I paint, if I waited until everything was fully painted it'd be many years before I ever bought another mini.
