Hi all!

I've just been reading up on the Malign Sorcery real of origin stuff and had a couple of questions.

1.
Do people generally consider this to be 'core' game? As in, if you went to play a pickup game of Sigmar would you expect the default to be that you could pick a plane of origin and access the realm specific relics? I realise this will probably vary from group/event, but I was wondering if there was a general consensus!

2.
If your army has a sub faction that mandates taking a specific relic, does access to realm specific relics override that and allow you to take one of those instead? Specifically I am playing Ogors, if I am Underguts from Shyish for instance must I take Gnoblar Blast Keg or do the realm of origin rules override that requirement and allow me to take a Shyish relic instead?

3.
If the above is yes, what if I also have a Battalion and therefore access to a second relic? Could I take a generic Mawtribes relic and a realm of origin relic legally without taking the Gnoblar Blast Keg - essentially saying that the realm relic has removed all obligation to take the tribe specific relic?

Thanks!

Hey, I dont have the malign sorcery book, but what i've understand, you'll have to take mandatory relics/traits of your allegiance (answer to n.2).

I'd also like to know is it typical to play with realms of battle, and how does their spells function (eg are they addittional)?

1 - Yes, this is a part of the core game. Some relics are even well-known as auto-take for certain combos (vampire on dragon w/ethereal amulet, for example).

2 - No, you must take the sub-faction artifact. That is part of the cost to use the sub-faction.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Thanks!

I suspected that was the case, but wanted confirmation.
