Hi guys! I've been making character and army name generators for Age of Sigmar for a while, but now I'm branching out into Warhammer 40K content. First up, I've made a Space Marine chapter name generator, which you can find here.

Is a neat idea but I generated a bunch o names and none of them sound all that marine like, it just of bunch of random words strung together. You should drop the from the beginning of every name and go do to 2 words.

Thanks for taking a look. Going to have to agree to disagree about the 'random words strung together' being a bad thing. That's the nature of a random generator - sometimes you're going to get slightly weird results, but on the whole I think it spits out plausible chapter names. Around two-thirds of the components are lifted straight out of the list of official chapter names, so they can't be that not-marine-like. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You may have a point about the 'the' at the beginning though. Personally I think it looks neater and sounds better, but admittedly chapter names are often (though not always) written without it. I'll think about that one. Thanks again.

I quite like it, but agree that they shouldn't all start with "the".

Blood Angels, not The Blood Angels
Ultramarines, not The Ultramarines
Space Wolves, not The Space Wolves

In fact, I don't think any of the 18 (known) 1st founding legions have "the" at the start of their name.

Other than that, I think most of the names I saw when I had a look seemed pretty good.

+1 for "Confessors of the Cockatrice"

There's definitely some weird combo's but that's to be expected from a random generator and it's not like there aren't some dumb ones in the official list anyway!
