What's some of the rare equipment options available to an Inquisitor? Is it just whatever is listed for space marines and imperium?

Which codex do I consult regarding the most recent options for them?

Unfortunately the WD did not give them all the options present in 7th. You can take all the standard Imperium discussion weapons (plasma, melts, etc). They can also take the standard CCWs (power sword, etc).

The most interesting part seems to be the psychic powers, IMO. Could synergize well with Guard, don't see much synergy with Marines unfortunately. But they are the only faction that can ally with Marines that do not cost you the Doctrine

Well by all the lore yes, completely right - but much more restricted in the Wd codex - they can't even get Power Armour even though models have it and half the conversions they showed in the same magazine had it.

I AM A MARINE PLAYER

"Unimaginably ancient xenos artefact somewhere on the planet, hive fleet poised above our heads, hidden 'stealer broods making an early start....and now a bloody Chaos cult crawling out of the woodwork just in case we were bored. Welcome to my world, Ciaphas."
Inquisitor Amberley Vail, Ordo Xenos

"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001

From a weird lore/weird rules option it's hard to beat a Displacer Field, which protects you from damage by randomly teleporting you a short distance. To be fair the only place they have rules these days is in 30k (where it gives you a 3++ but if you roll a 1 on a save you're removed and have to return to play by Deep Strike and die on any mishap), but they've been used by Inquisitors in novels (to the misfortune of tables that were put in a stupid place).

I've also skimmed Dark Heresy looking for the weirdest stuff the Inquisition makes use of there, and I think the weirdest one so far is "dreamjuice", a truth drug that also gives the user an Intelligence bonus so you're dosing your prisoners with something that'd make it easier for them to figure out how to escape...

Somewhere in Canada

The Ordo Hereticus WL trait is awesome- 50% chance to prevent a unit in HTH from falling back.

Also, six relics:

Blade of the Ordo
Digital Weapons
Blackshroud
Ignis Judicium
Bio-Corrosive Poison
Tainted Blade

The named Inquisitors are cool too, In addition to the six powers of the telethesia psychic discipline, there is a power specific to each Ordo.

Stratwise, they've only got 4, but three of them are awesome.

One allows them to interrogate any character who drops within 3" of the Inquisitor to gain d3 CP.

They can also call in a cyclonic torpedo to deal mortal wounds to multiple enemy units.

One allows you to give a WL trait and a relic to a generic Inquisitor who is not your warlord. You can also use it to activate the WL trait of a named Inq, but then you don't get to choose and they don't get a relic.

This allows you to create some really cool warbands. One I'm toying around with is an Ordo Xenos with Digital Weapons commanding a Vanguard of 3 Jokaero; being xenotechy, they partner with a small Admech Crew- I like Daedalosus and x-101 for this; his technoarcheologist schtick makes him more likely to hang with a radical Inquisitor and a band of Jokaero than his more orthodox peers. In narrative games, I also take UR-025 and a unit of 5 Ruststalkers to complete a second Vanguard. That's 12 models, so they fit in a Valkyrie, Land Raider or Chimera. Not technically legal because of UR-025's lack of admech keyword. Also, just because the Inquisitor can use any transport doesn't mean that his admech crew can.

Again, narrative.

Anyway, thumbs up on Inquisition. Right now, it's only the WD for Inquisition, but I am still expecting an Imperial Agents Dex.
