As the title says, I've noticed for a couple of days now that the Disciples of Tzeentch battletome is no longer available online through the GW website. Any idea what's up with that? I asked at my LGS and apparently my asking was the first anybody had heard of it.

It's no biggie for me personally. I'm planning on putting together a Tzeentch army in the new year, so it's just a question of whether something new is about to drop; no sense in getting the current battletome if it is. It just seems strange if something is coming that there's been no word about anything.

Tzeentch, Khadorans and Seraphon are all running old Battletomes. They are the only forces without a 2.0 battletome and thus are all three very likely to get a new Battletome early on 2020. Tzeentch has been reported out of stock for a while now and it makes it likely they could be next to be updated. Certainly by around march we should see all the armies with 2.0 battletomes (based on GW releasing at least 1 tome a month)

Safe bet is as Overread stated; if you are willing to hold off a month or two you'll probably have a new battletome to work with.

Just a note that GW doesn't tend to tell 3rd party stores nor their own store staff much about their releases in advance. So its no surprise that local store owners (be they 3rd party or GW) might not be aware of what's coming up or what's changing. A local store which might have a Tzeentch book on the shelf or no local pressure for more might well not notice that one has fallen out of availability. GW has a huge roster of products and even keeping a close eye on them its very easy for things to slip past.

So chances are you local doesn't know much more than your average gamer; and gamers who are active online tend to have more of an ear toward rumours so they tend to hear of things that potentially might happen, sometimes before official staff do.

Indeed. If they tell 3rd parties they might as well publicly announce it.

Ah right, sounds like it'll be worth waiting for now. I might still collect a few of the HQ models as I'm really looking forward to having them as painting projects, but the army itself can wait. Thanks for the info.

I imagine that if there are new battletomes for the Kharadron Overlords and the Disciples of Tzeentch coming very soon that they'll be announced at the New Year Open Day on January 4th.
