As I'm sure is the case for many GW players on these forums I collect & play a bunch of different armies. But with the rules & book bloat out there I'm having trouble collating specific army rules in one place so that I'm not rifling through 3-5 different codices/supplement books when I play an army. For example Ultramarines could need 4-5 books (C:SM, C:Ultramarines, one or both Vigilus & Psychic Awakening) to utilize all Rules, Warlord Traits, Stratagems, etc...

Before I start making my own, does anyone know of a site that has army rules reference sheets? Even if it was just a list of the rule names, with book & page number, would be a huge help.

I'm specifically looking for GK, SW, AdM, GSC and newest SM but others would be helpful too.

Thanks in advance.

This is why I use BattleScribe - I don’t have to keep up with a dozen books, I can get pretty much the latest reference material from the program directly. I think it notates the page and source as well.

It does note the pages for most rules if you don’t hide it.

When I need to attend a tourney, or if I have a very complicated army list, then I create little "cards". They look like Magic the Gathering cards, but they have all the important info on them that I tend to forget. Like weapon stats, degrading profiles, or psychic powers (I print them with the powers I intend to use, and for tournaments where I might sometimes change things up, I print multiples with different combinations).

It was very important for a bash-bros hero-hammer list I made a couple years back that had 10 characters with psychic powers. Helped me keep track of who had what.

Do you have a template you use or how do you make them?

BattleScribe is made by players who make mistakes all the time. In other words, don't trust BattleScribe. Always double check it. And don't depend on it as your only source of rules.

For me, I just made a 4 page reference sheet for my Ultramarines with all their specific rules and combo's for strategagems. If you play in ITC tournaments, you are still required to bring all the rules that your army uses. So if you try to use a Strategem from Faith and Fury and you don't have the Faith and Fury book, the ITC judge can say you can't use the Stratagem. Same thing for that Leviathan Dreadnought that everyone loves to use. If you don't have the Imperial Armor book for it, an ITC judge is well within their rights to remove the model from the table.

I just ended up making my own QRS. I generally print a new one each time a major FAQ/Chapter Approved comes out. I only list the models I own/use, etc.

Took me a couple of hours to set up both of my armies in Microsoft Word, etc. Easy to update/add-to.

@Elbows those look lovely! I've done the same thing when going to tournaments before but mine are a hodgepodge of scanned Codex pages and blocks of text, not laminated neatly-organized tables with coloured rows...

I use Battlescribe but agree that it's not the best source for rules when playing. And it's not that user-friendly for supplemental stuff and stratagems.

Edit: Yeah, Elbows, looks nice; something like that is what I was looking for.

If only GW thought to put something like this in their codexes. Like...I dunno...on the last page or something. Just a crazy idea I had.

Yes I know books used to have summery pages, thats my point

Which would only matter if it didnt get faqed 3 times a year.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

Yeah, the initial assembling is a pain...but once you have it down, adding/changing stuff is easy. On the statlines I also have the point values in parentheses for each model, etc. I bring my codex with me when I game (I don't do tournaments) in case I stumble upon something weird. If I cock up something, I'll fix it.

But yeah, having one of these files for each of my armies is extremely handy. Also, I hate using a phone/tablet when gaming, and don't like searching for things. The colour coding/sections are just to make it easier to find the info I need without sorting through a phone, etc.

The CSM has had so much crap added/changed, etc...it's gone to three double-sided sheets at around Font 9....lol.

I'm not even concerned with the stat lines & point cost, battlescribe is fine for that. I need the rules reference, page numbers & strategems.

Exactly Lance845, that's one of my problems too. lol

Thanks all for your input.

Yes players make mistakes, unlike gw.

Yarium's and Elbow's solutions both seem excellent. Unfortunately I don't have the tools to create them myself.

I don't have any templates, but here is the basic Microsoft Word file for the CSM sheets:
