Here we have a guy who is just as big and as strong as Adeptus Astartes. It is like seeing Abbadon back when he was just little human. I just love to watch bypassers and how punny they look in comparison. Technically, I think even Adeptus Astartes might look small by comparison!

In order to make this thread more informative, I did little research. So, your average Space Marine is 2.3 meters tall. Sources varies from 2-3 meters. Space marine on its own weights over 300 kilograms on average. That gives 130 kg per meter of height. I for example have 55 kilograms per meter. Brian Shaw as seen in video is 2 meters tall and weighs 200 kilograms, giving him nice and round 100 kg per meter. Space marine seems to be awfully dense and thick. Those inner bones must be strengthened to such a point that they are heavier than armor. It is also strange to see how just little bit of height makes a person look so much bigger than he actually is. He is just 18 cm taller than me, but he looks like a giant. Funny thing is, this man actually compares to a space marine if we squash their numbers a little bit. Also, I also think that Brian Shaw is actually stronger than some Adeptus Astartes. I do believe that he might have just more mass in muscles though, your adeptus astartes will have that muscle being more effective and his body just on whole different league. If we take on another hand highest estimates then we would run into more consistency problems. At that weight, space marines would start heavily struggling in a lot of basic tasks like operating human weaponary, using any machinery meant for human use, etc.

I edited the image to drop the Space Marine down to 7ft. which is the stated average. I also made a 6 ft. guy and inserted Brian Shaws height. Brian Shaw is a huge dude. The average Space Marine is even bigger at 7ft tall, and more dense/efficient/whatever. Like, for anyone looking for 8+ foot Space Marines, they're totally unecessary.

Space marines have always been referred to as 2 and a half meters tall. So 20cm more. So a total of 8 feet 4 inches. Another 4 inches(10cm) taller in armor.

I do appreciate the gigantic dude in a super market. In the eventual SM movie we'll need a squad of these guys to stand next whoever's playing the main character/Inquisitor. Because a space marine captain S the lead might be a bit much.

If Gandalf can stand next to Bilbo and seem like he's twice his size, or that tom cruise looking like he's capable of beating anyone in a 1v1 has taught as anything... Is that getting creative with camera angles makes magic happen and seem anything possible.

They haven't always been referred to anything. Especially not 2.5 metres tall.

Jes Goodwin originally designed them at 7-7'6" and his 1:1 scale pic puts them in that size. Pretty sure a recent podcast hes saying exactly that.

2.5 metres is over 8 feet tall.

Too.much fanwank and purple prose has got fanboys exaggerating everything from the size of marines to the size of bolter shells (0.75 calibre is NOT Redhill can...).

Same is true of titans - their size has remained the same since the original AT, and they are retained in the new AT. Yet people insist on trying to say they are hundreds of metres tall.

It's only been in the era of hyperbolic black library Fiction that we get these OTT numbers.

Well, even half a meter difference in height can make another man look like a complete giant to you, especially if he is extremely muscular and very angry, and it is charging at you with very scary weapons and pointy armor! Now imagine this extended to a titan. When a walker size of an entire building starts blasting, it is easy to understand why everybody gets so impressed and awed by them and starts exagarating their dimensions.

As for Brian Shaw, thank you for that photo edit. I actually did not paid too much attention of how big those guys are by comparison. It also clicked to me that they are nearly as big as fully grown Adeptus Astartes. It is great seeing in reality how big those guys would look in our world.

Manute Bol was one of the largest NBA players and was 7'7''. But he is definitly not as muscular as an Astartes. Still some funny pictures, when you google him.

IMO the marines are cool enough being 7 feet tall in armor.

Make them over 2,5 meters tall and guess what? They're as big as (a small) ogryn but significantly weaker...

Argh! I hate the biggersizing of marines. The Emperor should be normal human sized! There is no reason for him to be ginormous. And the Primarchs should be the size of normal marines except for Magnus.
