I am seeing these on ebay.

There is a fairly decent range already. Anyone know who makes them?

I've seen them before, but they've added some versions which is slick. I don't know the name of the company, but I'd just peruse around Russian eBay sellers and you'll eventually find a name.

What are you saying here. That you have noticed extra models here you had not seen before, or that the manufacturer is making sprues for configurations?

I have some MWDA mechs, just bought a load of clickytech elementals to back them up and want to do N scale Battletech. Then I srtumbled upon these.

Now most MWDA models are junk but there are some gems and they managed to get the Summoner, Hellbringer and Kit Fox right, so I can do Jade Falcons. These model;s widen the clan touman.

Spheroids I can make from the handful of servicable spheroid mech designs in MWDA like the Centurion and Hatchetman, boosted by diecast Macross and Dougram kits of similar scale.

Now the creators of MWO turn a blind eye to printing of their sculpts and you can find them online. The word is just dont try and sell them. The community is fine with this levity.

I have terrain all fixed up long ago because I use same for Dropzone Commander; my terrain is a rough 50/50 split on German and Japanese N scale model railway building manufacturers, mostly Greenmax, Kibri, Tomix and Faller kits. I intend to only do urban, fewest complications and it allows the transition of both very long and very short fire lanes dependant on orientation which keeps things fun and fair.

Just when I was getting the ball rolling along comes Catalyst finally getting their arses in gear with new plastic sets in a Kickstarter. I am torn which to do.

Battletech infuriates me so simply because it could be so much cooler than it actually is. This is another example of just that.

The miniatures game is very much a garage industry which outsources everything except the splatbooks.

To make it cool you need to DIY, Battletechers have known this since the 80's. To their credit Catalyst does support this. Tactical Operations and Strategic Operations has so much depth that you can add just about anything and showcase miniatures doing just that.
Want to find out what happens when a freight train hits a parked dropship, they have rules for that.

However they have left a vacuum in a very reputable product line, and a Russian plastics factory is taking full advantage. I have zero problems with that.

Thank god the only seller I found was from Russia and I don't want to wait a month for a splurge purchase (Russian Post os AWFUL!).

$46 for all 6 mechs had my finger on the "buy it now" button, but I've got a large box of Dark Age stuff sitting in my closet for years to do some N-scale BT and nothing done. Plus I'm already almost $400 into the Catalyst KS, with many MANY other projects in my hobby queue, I think the month it takes to receive the figs my Gamer ADD would have kicked in and I'd be far less enthused about them. Still super tempting, they look REALLY good for the price

I think its a good selection, though configurations would be nice, and they should do an Adder ASAP, its the principle mainstream 3050 mech you cant get from this and MWDA, with the Summoner, Hellbringer, Kit Fox and Mist Lynx covered by clickytech. We can do without the others frankly, yes more is better still, but I could be content with the Adder and a move onto 3025 and 3026 spheroid designs. Still ten designs is enough cover if needs be.

Which clans though? MWDA satisfied the Jade Falcon itch very nicely, but didnt cover anyone else. The six designs showcased above, who would they be for? From what I am reading they seem to be mostly Smoke Jaguar favoured designs, plus the Timber Wolf.

They are interesting, I grabbed a Warhawk a couple years ago from them on Ebay. They are bigger than the N-Scale MWDA figs.

I know the seller had an Ebay store for a while, I don't know if there is a normal online store or not. Quality is decent, not a huge amount of detail for such a large mini, and the joints lock together with pressure. The only problem with that is you can see the plastic end that expands to connect them. Instead of that being INSIDE the joint, it is the outside of the joint at the shoulder or hip. Mildly annoying. It requires some work to cover it up if you don't want your joints to look like flat head screwdriver connections.

Thanks Mattlov, is the scale difference noticable?

I noticed the hub clips but don't consider them a problem. In fact they are enheartening as it indicates that there may well be configuation sprues at some stage. I will glue mine and looked hard online at the artwork on Sarna to see how the hubs actually looked. As expected they are mostly covered with armoured disk caps. I will do likewise.

As a fellow Jade Falcon trothkin you could possibly help me design a Trinary.
I have two MWDA Summoners, two MWDA Hellbringers and four MWDA Kit Foxes and one Mist Lynx. I have a Cygnus which I was going to convert into a Warhawk, but don't think I will both now. I have also been spared paying silly money for a Gunslinger Dire Wolf.
I am thinking of one Dire Wolf, one Timber Wolf, one Mad Dog and two Vipers as I dont have any mediums, plus the replacement Warhawk. I could swap one out for a Nova (and just get the base set) but I dont mind buying that and extras as I want to also make up a Trinary of their foils those dastardly Mutts.
I bought some leementals on ebay. They are MWDA 'Clan Battle Armor' so not quite the same, Wizkids just had to be awkward, but I dont care too much about that.

I don't know if it's what he's referring to, but the last time I was into Battletech, Catalyst was releasing waves of random material - often outsourced by fans and other mercenaries in the genre. People were designing miniatures and expansions for Catalyst rather than stuff being done in house.

It is noticeably bigger. I don't have any DA figs anymore, but when I did this guy towered over them. He's a full 3 inches tall at the shoulders, and adding the extra torso height and missile rack he's about 3 1/3rd inches tall, maybe slightly more. It's also very beefy, very broad and long in the torso.

If you're building a Dark Age Era Trinary, I'd put Eyries, Gyrfalcons, and a Shrike in there to fill out the Jade Falconyness. Jupiters also work for a big and nasty assault 'Mech if you don't want to track down any Dire Wolves. They're not awesome, but Shadow Cat IIs are also a Jade Falcon design. I'm not sure they're proud of that...

For the Wolves, tracking down a Sun Cobra or two wouldn't be out of place. In the DA scale they also have the Tundra Wolf, Wulfen, and Warwolf. I'm not sure they made any non-unique Tundra Wolves, though.

Haven't thought about DA sculpts in a while, I'm sure I'm missing something obvious to add to both of them.

There were actual Elementals in MWDA, including at least one Jade Falcon base. I don't know how easy they are to find these days.

A belated and recent development I mentioned earlier. Production is also outsourced.

I am looking to play invasion era in N scale.

Anybody looking for inspiration for N scale Battletech should check this thread on lead-adventure

http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=113649.0

and the king of the scale, check out Spaceman Spiff and the planet of Paint. He started out repainting mechwarrior clix on the BT forum and then moved into custom mech conversions, then custome sculpting general 10mm sci-fi vehicles and now 3d Printing. He stopped posting to forums after the Photobucket mess and only does Facebook now as far as I know.

Been working on N scale Btech myself - hoping to use with Dropzone Commander city scenery eventually. Most are magnetized at the waist for torso twistin' action:

Nice mechs, can we have scale reference please. Also do you have any MWDA or this Russian stuff to match up scalewise.

Sorry, no MWDA nor the Russian stuff, but below are a couple pics of my 3D prints vs. the new plastic Battletech mechs. My prints are all the MWO designs which I have come to like and almost prefer over the old. Some I probably need to re-scale a bit as they are either too big or too small and print again but for the most part I really like the bigger size and I think they will look pretty good with Dropfleet size buildings and such...

I don't know, the Thunderbolt and Thanatos model from Iron Winds seems to be of an appropriate size, but the old plastics seem a little small.

Yep. The MWO guys are really cool about digisculpts and so are Catalyst, which I am grateful for. They didnt have to be.

I prefer the old school scaling where a Commando is only slightly shorter than an Atlas but a lot less bulky, I dont like waist height light mechs, mass to volume ratios dont work like that.

Petrov, when it comes around to a print session for mechs I would like a Q&A with you please.

Meanwhile Russian seller on ebay got back to me, the six mechs seen as the only sculpts available, as of now.
