I've had a blast assembling the new models and stripping the old metals for a new color scheme but have run into a snag. Before, I only had about 30 metal models of various Sisters, Seraphim and Repentia. Quite easy to distinguish squads but with the new plastics I find I have nearly 50 bolter Sisters alone. How has the general Sororitas player base been doing squad markings? A different color paint on a knee or back pack? Decals? Maybe the fleur de lys on the shoulder and knee?

I like what I've painted so fair and could see no markings whatsoever but maybe a line on the base so I know how to keep them seperate on the table and in the storage tray.

Here's a thread I've shown on my color scheme and I appreciate any thoughts on whether to mark or not. Thanks

Different coloured base edges or not really caring...

I put my unit markings on the cloth tabbard hem. Usually a line of a complimentary color, or a marking like a normal shoulder pad on the corners.

Keeping the hobby side alive!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.

I'm painting the "I" on the left shoulder pad a different colour for each squad. It's subtle, but since it's on top, it's pretty easy to spot.

Ooh, I like the idea of the I on the left shoulder. I'll see how that looks and then maybe also mark the base if it still seems hard to tell.

I kind of like the tabard idea if the older metal models didn't have shorter weird angles to them. Maybe the 'new' celestians will have those.

Thanks for your replies and thoughts on this.

I have a feeling I'm not gonna mark which squad is which. There is a ton of mix n match ability padding Retributor & Dominion squads w battleline sisters as needed. The Sister Superiors would have differentiating features(not sure what as of yet).

I distinguish squads by painting or writing numerals on the back of my minis base.

I had 60 Daemonettes that were utterly impossible to tell apart and I didn't want to do anything so regimented as '20 with purple hair, 20 with pink hair etc. etc', so I used one of those metallic markers to put a I, II, or III on the back of each one's base.

The markings won't show on display but they're obvious as you're looking down at the mini on the table. It worked pretty well so I've just continued to do it.
