My attempt at saga of the beast ork list barring any FAQs. Starts with 18 command points....


2 CP warboss on bike- da biggest boss, extra relic
1 CP for Vigilus
1 CP killa kan kustom job- sparkly bits
3 CP gorkanaut- kustom job- slug gubbin, teleport
1 CP gunwagon- kustom job- da boomer
1 CP shockjump dragsta kustom job- whirlygig

My list

Death skull detachment (vigilus)
SSAG Mek w warlord trait bbk (and grot)
weirdboy- mechanical seizure
3x 10 grots
Gorkanaut- slugg gubbin, teleport
Gunwagon- da boomer
5x tankbustas- in wagon
Shockjump dragsta- whirlygig


Grot detachment
Deffkilla wartrike
Bigmek w kff (and Grot)
3x10 grots
6x smasha gun
6x killa kans w rokkits (sparkly bits)


Pyromaniacs detachment
War boss on bike, da biggest boss, da Killa klaw
Weird boy- da jump

Useful in game strategems (9 left)
Vigilus shoot twice on gork or SSAG (kustom ammo)- cost 2cp

I'm pretty sure killa kans can only take 1 rokkit per model. Unless you are saying on average your smasha gunz are contributing the other 12 "s8" shots.

For the meganobz, I feel like to get the most out of them you need a full 10 in the telyporta. Maybe drop them for more boyz? Having 3x30 is so useful.

I like the toolbox style list but you might not have enough redundancy. Anti infantry weapons will target boyz and anti vehicle weapons will target the naut.

You are right on kills kans its 6 rokkits
I dropped all the boys and nobs the main feedback i got was go boys or mech not both. So I changed it to mech.
It’s 2000 points.

I like your list a lot, but I would get rid of the DS tankbustas and thé wagon they are in. IMHO, With these points I would either:

Get more kans (give em the dirty gubbins K job) and get a waagh banner to accompany your 12 Kanz.
Or
Get a second gorkanaut

What do you think ?

Also agree (with other who said so), you were right in removing boys. Boyz are needed only when you run evil suns gorkanauts / morkanauts to help casting that visions through cannabis smoke, IMHO

The vigilus detachment is dread waagh and the stratagem 'kustom ammo' only works on walkers, not gunwagon. So the shoot twice dont count. Or am I missing something?

Only have 6 kans but I agree there is strong merit in 6 more kans with grotzooka and dirty gubbins if I can teleport them in with the gorkanaut.
The gorkanaut is going to take a lot of focus fire being the immediate threat which is why I’m hoping it has a strong turn 2 using slug gubbin w kustom ammo and maybe ramming to get stuck in combat. (Cp intensive) This makes a second Gork less ideal since it can’t ram or shoot twice w slug gubbin kustom job.

da boomer and 5 tankbustas is a decent gun platform especially if I can get the weirdboy spell off that I hope it takes focus from the rest of the list.
If I had 6 more kans I think your teleported dirty gubbins grotzooka kans would be great Alternative.

The waaggh banner won’t be able to reach the teleported mech or keep up w piston kans. plus this is such a low model count list it’s an easy snipe in open.

I do see some issues w the rest of this list. I don’t think the sag hqs get reroll 1s or 6+ invul like I originally hoped for in a Gretchin detachment since even w grot oiler they don’t have Gretchin keyword. So I might change 1 of those hqs. i just don’t know what’s a better hq there.

You are correct gunwagon don’t have dread waagh keyword. It was a mistake by me. I meant gork or ssag since big meks also have the keyword.

Made changes as suggested just short on cp. thanks all for the help. I don’t expect this list to win tournaments but it does look decent and fun. Truly I don’t think anything in saga of the beast helps orks current issues in dealing with marine meta. We are still just as squishy and our best strength is greentide board control. In the meantime this list provides fun consistent offensive potential.

I had some feedback that triple airwing isn’t strong option plus I lack enough CPs to play. Do you think instead of an airwing I should take another battalion of:

Pyromaniacs
Wartrike
Bigmek w kff
3x 10 grots
Bomber

Same cost if big mek kff is really free....I’d probably switch the big mek w weirdboy in grot detachment.
This gives me 4 more CPs to play with a total of 9.
