I've had success using contrast paint on vehicles by stippling it on with a flat-topped drybrush. You don't get the pooling, and the colour matches your infantry.
Please tell us more - preferably with pictures!
I know that Contrast makes for some awesome Marine paint jobs - if you can show me some vehicles painted well with it, I'd be very grateful!
"Painted well" is a bit of stretch perhaps, this is my first proper army, but it aint awful.
If you do something about those green gems you will have some nice models. Keep the green 100% but either make them glowing or highlight them a bit. Just my tuppence
