Hello! I've been wanting to read more AoS books after doing nothing but college level reading on Plautus, Cicero and polish literature. Are there any good stories you guys could think of for AoS? I've already read Court of the blind king, City of Secrets, Everchosen and currently working through the 8 laments. so got some of the better books. Still, I would love to have more!

Can’t go wrong with any of the novellas.

"Sometimes the only victory possible is to keep your opponent from winning." - The Emperor, from The Outcast Dead.
"Tell your gods we are coming for them, and that their realms will burn as ours did." -Thostos Bladestorm

Soul Wars by Josh Reynolds. What happens when a Stormcast goes bad, and what it's like being in the legions of Nagash.

The second Callis and Toll book; the Silver shard is very good. I thought it was much better than city of secrets. The two novellas by Nick Horth are also great.

Me too.

Nearly all the AoS novels are pretty good. Josh Reynolds does particularly good stuff but so do others. I just read the first Blacktalon novel which had a good depiction of Dreadwood.

The Novellas are all a good read. They've the appeal of being shorter than full novels, but the bonus of being long enough that they can develop characters and situations far more in depth than a short story can achieve.

After that there's Ghoul Slayer - good old adventuring in the realm of death with the ever grump Gotrek (though you'd likely want to hear the two Realmslayer audio dramas which set things up - also read NEverspike the short story as that is basically the intro to Ghoulslayer).

Josh Reynolds is a solid recommendation - heck the first AoS story I read was Pestilens which was great and mad skaven fun in the realm of beasts. A huge war conducted on the back of a fast walking drake with a city built atop its back.

The Realmwars Books (two omnibus editions collect them all) are decent reads, but perhaps some of the weaker stories. They focus on the wars at the very start of the setting and set the scene for the age. Howver they were campaign stories focused around battles and around Stormcast at their first and best, so they feel rather "mary sue" in style. They are good reads, just not AoS at its most refined or developed. Plus they can get a big heavy feeling with the high combat focus. Godo to make a start with to get a handle on the setting, but many of the more recent stories clearly show authors far more in-tune with the setting and races.

Honestly I think the RGW are entirely skippable. Some good stuff, but the quality of work outside that series is just better overall, IMO.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.
