Hey folks, hoping you all can give me some advice for a narrative campaign I have organised.
To keep a long story short, the campaign format limits each player to select 5000pts at the beginning of the campaign and ONLY use those exact units and loadouts during the campaign. That means for example, a Tactical Squad eith a Flamer and ML, will ALWAYS have to be taken as a 10 man squad with Flamer and ML. It also means that when making an army, I basically select the units from this larger 5K list to make say, a 1500pt list.
To that end I've designed the list attached with 8th Ed in mind. It'll need some 9th Ed tweaks but on the whole I'd pretty much take exactly that. I'll be running them as Blood Ravens (the Dawn of War chapter, not Sanguinius's nipple force. People confuse them a lot).
So essentially I have already included a Predator (Autocannon, Lascannons, SB and HK) and a devastator squad with 3HB and a MM. By dropping these two units (and a SB somewhere else) I can instead bring a single Repulsor. Now, the firepower is super nice but I'm unsure of the utility of it alongside my other units as well as the higher points. Which option should I be more looking to include as a TAC choice?
As an aside, my current thoughts are to run Successor Tactics with Stealthy and Long Range Marksmen, as well as Raven Guard tactics. This is because I have a lot of Flamers and Meltas in my army which would help them a lot, but not enough to justify Salamanders tactics. They would also help me in general with resilience and general firepower, as well as character assassination which will be a big part of the campaign.
I've attached my full list to this post tontry and give better context of my overall options. Please advise me on whether I should be bringing Predator ajd Devastators or a Repulsor!
