Hi all,

I picked up some Howling Banshees in April-ish last year and they've languished for a long time in my part painted pile of shame due to Psychic Awakening being a bit of a let down. I tend to paint models I'll use for the tabletop but with some of the free time I'm getting from lockdown conditions I'm finally getting round to painting up a squad of nine Banshees in the hope 9th will fix some of their issues they've had for a long time! I prefer these sculpts to the new released ones, they feel a bit finer and more dynamic.

I tried out some new techniques in order to differentiate materials like hair and cloth and then tried airbrushing power sword to achieve smoother blends. I even tried out some pigments to add some extra flavour to their bases. Let me know what you think, C&C is always appreciated!

Full sized images are in my gallery by clicking on the images if you want to inspect!

Quality job mate good work! Like the power swords. The green is a bit garish compared to the rest of the pain tjob though it gives it a nice emerald pop. Not a huge fan of the backdrop like the corduroy material it's a little distracting would recommend using black card or similar smooth material. GJ!

Cheers! Glad you like them overall, I know the green is bright but they stand out on the tabletop at least!

The backdrop is actually a t shirt of mine that I've had to use as I've no access to my lightbox currently and there seems to be nowhere that will deliver some black card.

Admired these on IG the other day. They look fantastic!

The swords turned out very well: the transitions are top notch!
I also really love the green cloth and the hair. The bright highlights really catch the eye.

People complain about how old some of the eldar models are, but with a good paintjob those sculpts still look good today.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?
