Just being curious, as I sometimes struggle with how much time I WANT to paint versus how much time I actually CAN paint.
1. Do live together with a partner?
2. Do you have kids?
3. How many hours are you able to paint in a week?
(yes, I left out "having a job/going to school or university" on purpose)

Yes, I live with my wife. Yes, we have 6 kids. I can at most paint for less than half an hour a week, in fact, most weeks I can't do anything hobby related at all.

1. Yes.
2. Two boys aged 2 and 4.
3. Probably 5-10 hours a week. Most nights after the boys are in bed my wife watches TV and I set up a folding table in the living room to paint for an hour. It's important to her that we be together, but not necessarily doing the same thing. She doesn't like my TV preferences, so she controls the remote and I get my hobby time, which is mutually agreeable. I also put in a long session or two in the garage (temperature permitting) which is where I do large scale or messy projects like cutting foam.

I only recently moved into somewhere with space for the hobby, so have been painting most days this week, riding the "novelty wave" until it wears off and I lose motivation for painting again!
I always feel like I may be neglecting my Partner if I'm doing hobby stuff whilst she's at home. I tend to try and do it if she's out whenever possible!
1: Yes
2: No kids
3: probably about 8 hours this week

Similar for me. I sit at the dining table and listen to music or YouTube videos while the Mrs watches bake off or strictly come dancing or something. Sometimes she does sewing or cross stitch. Once it gets to 9pm we stop and watch a TV program on netflix

1. Yes
2. No
3. Probably about an hour, hour and a half. Mostly due to not being able to sit hunched over a painting desk for more than 15-20 minutes at a time without my back giving up.

3. Last year about 4-5 hours per week, sometimes more. This year 1 hour per week max, some weeks like last week none at all. Probably could have more time, but due to much too much work and the need to stay fit I'm often too exhausted to do something fun.

Married, two children, about 1 hour per workday, usually more at the weekend if we are at home or non at all if we are away so I would say 5-10h a week.
My wife sometimes paints too.

As with all things your priorities will change over the years. Sometimes I have a mega urge to get a modelling project done and it will feel very frustrating not to be able to advance it. Other times it will feel like the worst chore to pick up a brush.
At the moment I get 2 hours or so of free time in the evening. Currently also in moving limbo so I have no real desire to make modelly based mess.
Looking forward to the new house and a new crafting station to make some more progress.
1 yes, and she puts up with my nerdcaving marvellously
2 2 kids, 5 and 7
3 between 0 and 8 depending on circumstances.

I’m married with 2 girls. My hobby time depends very much on how the girls are at going to bed, how busy work is and what my wife is up to. If my wife is sewing and the kids get to bed well and work is ok, then I can manage about 10 hours a week. Otherwise it’ll be closer to only 2-3hrs over the weekend

Married, with a 10 month old son, logging a big, fat zero hours of hobby time, weekly. My last great burst of motivation resulted in finally getting some hobby space set up again, after moving house. Newborn killed all available time and energy. My new hobby space was promptly overrun with baby stuff and, with my wife's return to work, childcare and household tasks primarily fall on me, leaving the hobby, once more, to literally collect dust. One day... One fine day I shall return, in earnest.

Live with my wife and two kids, 10 and 12.
I used to get about 5 hours a day in while the kids were at school.
Since lockdown and cancellation of school, not even an hour a week.

3.Being a young soldier I spend little time at my home, staying in the barracks most of the weeks, and often get things to do on the week ends so I'm no getting that much access anymore to my hobby stuff. So rarely get time. When I come back on holidays it may rockeet up to 3-4 hours a week but rarely more because I try to spend time with my friends and family, which implies more playing than painting.
