Okay, so I went into Pariah with fairly realistic expectations. The stuff in the stream didn't really answer the questions I wanted answered most.

But today's Warcom Pariah preview article gave me what I was looking for: at the end, they say all Inquisition forces can be included in Imperial detachments without breaking their doctrines, not just the Inquisitors themselves. This would be a HUGE improvement- so much so that I'm unwilling to let myself believe it until I see the actual rule in the book.

The two new strats are good; the four old ones were decent too. I hope the psychic strat doesn't replace the similar, but more powerful Malleus WL Trait, but even if it did, I'd probably come around; they strat, while not as powerful, is far more versatile.

Anyway, I've seen enough today to give me a bit of hope- or at the very least, cautious optimism.

Yeah, this feels like a massive change that makes the non-Inquisitor Inquisition models viable. I will be thrilled if I can take my monkey circus in a sisters list and not disable the rites, for example...especially since it doesn't seem like you'll even have to pay an additional detachment tax for it.

I too was happily surprised by the seemingly new content for inquisition. I was expecting more or less a reprint of the white dwarf index, as the assassins got (with a few minor tweaks).

A native deepstrike strat really helps, as it makes all those fancy weapons actually usable (hi there, tricked out acolyte squad!)
The changes to character targeting make spamming characters a little tricker, but I think that's totally fair. They work a little more like squad-upgrades like they used to be.

It's just a deployment strat, not a deep strike stat, isn't it?

Gathering the Informations.

Personally, I hope there's a caveat in there that makes them still break doctrines for Marines.

Well, its a "deploy anwhere outside 9" of enemy units" strat.
Deepstrike isnt really a thing in 8th (or 9th), but that's the common colloquial term for that type of deployment.

DS is something you do after deployment on T2+.

This is an infiltrate more, like what SM scouts get.

Still useful, but quite different from deep strike.

They also forgot to include the "or within 9" of enemy units" in the rule, so RAW you can use this to deploy straight into combat with anything else that's already been deployed outside a deployment zone if you wanted to.

Oh you're absolutely right, my bad! I must've glossed over it at first glance.
Still makes decking out a squad of acolytes with stormbolters seem like a fun idea.

Yeah, you're right, and thanks for the clarification. I'm usually better with semantics...

Interesting loophole too; they'll probably FAQ that one up later.

I do still quite like the strat- it has a lot of flavour to it; I can see the Inquisitor and their loyal retinue sneaking into a forward position, knowing full well they've got an army coming in behid them for when the going gets rough. Really looking forward to this book.

Could someone make a brief summary about the inquisitions new content or link the page?

His pattern of returning alive after being declared dead occurred often enough during Cain's career that the Munitorum made a special ruling that Ciaphas Cain is to never be considered dead, despite evidence to the contrary.

I hope they just get rid of doctrines for Marines completely, but we can't always get what we want.

Is that an eldar dude who is an inquisitor?how is that explained, considering all the xeno hate imperials have?

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.

That was def nice surprise. Don't think they are that competive options but fun and with so many Inquisitor rules needing henchmen it's nice to have that option more easily.

Now to convert some henchmen...

Radical inquisitors have been known to use enemy technology, especially radical order xenos inquisitors.

Really liking that they seem to have put a little thought into this update.

New inquisitor model is cool and has interesting rules. STrange that she is listed as a Lord Inquisitor and Coteaz is not?

Would love it if they have added something that would allow us to field multiple Imperial forces together a little better, I don't mind if those forces lose some abilities but I really like the mixed warband approach with things from admech/guard/marine/etc.... all rolling together.
