I am usually behind on buying games...I usually like to ssve the $$ on them.

So, thinking of getting Battletech now that its $10

My question on the DLC is this:
Do you get to use the DLC mechs within the main storyline?

I destroy my enemies when I make them my friends.

Three!! Three successful trades! Ah ah ah!

The main campaign? Mostly yes

There are specific mechs that are locked behind Flashpoints that don't pop until after the main campaign is over (Raven and Hatchetman at least), but almost all the rest are going to pop up in shops and battles.

That said, the main campaign is frankly crap (the writing is cartoon villainy crossed with death camps for literally no reason and more lostech than even Comstar should have), and you'll be way overpowered for the flashpoints and other dlc content by the end of the campaign.

Career mode presents the DLC in a more timely fashion and it just stays interesting longer.

Plus, the last dlc really fleshes out the list of mechs to the basic standards of classic battletech. The base game is rather lacking (though some of that was lawsuit related that they had no control over)

If you get it at all, get one of the bundles with all of it (digital deluxe and the shadow hawk alternate model aren't worth anything, but the 3 dlc are if you like the game).

Would recommend. Carreer mode is way better, as Voss said,

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Holy crap....

Just started a 3 skull mission with my:
Thunderbolt
Thunderbolt
Highlander
Jaeger

And went up against
King Crab
Marauder
Warhammer
Warhammer
Black Jack
Snub Tank

and there may have been one other mech too.

Even though those Warhammers were only 5 more tons....it can make a huge difference.

I was getting my azz handed to me.

And not ashamed to say I scum saved.

Even doing Clash of the Titans vs a Highlander and Annihilator wasn't as bad as this (its how I got my Highlander actually).

I destroy my enemies when I make them my friends.

Even better option for you-FREE battletech made by fans for fans-they do large organised matches (chaos marches ) on the weekends. because it is fan run there is no advertising so peak times for server usage tend to be weekends and evenings US time zones
