Hello there and welcome to the First Amongst Traitors, the Warmaster's legion!
I have been looking forward to showcasing my favourite army project; an entire Black Legion invasion force.
I love these guys in the lore. They are one of the main antagonists, they field almost every entry in terms of chaos units and they gather large amount of forces and launches great campaigns (debatable whether these are succesful or not
against the imperium of man. Aaron Dembski books was a thrill to read and they just made me go into this project even more! I recommend reading those, and there might be a third book in the series coming any time soon, hopefully.
Enough talk, here is the army!
Cultists are a mainstay of chaos armies, the Black Legion is no different!
The uprising is guided by a Dark Apostle
The local militia joined as well! Always liked the ideer of a bit more organized renegade militia
A renegade commander leads this small division of renegades
And here is what it's all about! Chaos space marines! I collected a small "demi-company" though
CSM does not have companies it seemed nicely balanced into core troops of 30 marines, 10 raptors and 10 havocs.
They are led by a chaos lord and sorcerer duo
And now to one of my favourite things about the Black Legion. It's so huge that it incorporates different sub-factions within it. The rubric marines have an especially powerful warband called the Sons of the Cyclopes where they have a key advisory role for Abaddon.
Nonetheless, brutal force is also needed, so here is the Hounds of Abaddon, often leading the charge in my games
The marines have acces to an armoured column; 2 rhinos, 1 predator, 1 land raider and the siege breaking Typhon relic tank from the heresy era.

Moving on, we have the daemon engines
They are led by a lord discordant. Here I used the Anacharis Scoria from
FW as a dark mechanicus discordant lord. Funny how they almost share the exact same load out as
GW's lord discordant.

We also have air support; 2 hel blades escorting Abaddon's personal storm eagle
10 bringers of despair guards their Warmaster
And here he is; the one and only Ezekyle Abaddon, Warmaster of Chaos! His favourite quote is "Horus was weak" and surely, he will some day surpass his gene-father and crush Tera
Inspired by Horus Aximan or "little Horus" I could not help but make a Chaos lord who resembled Abaddon as Aximan resembled Horus. He actually served as Abaddon before the new, awesome model was released.
I collected an entire Chaos knight dread household who swore allegiance to the Black Legion immediately. I use these in competitive games.
The Tyrant wears his crown
Daemons support their mortal allies. I even kept the Tzaangors in a red and black colour to complement the rest of the army
A council of 3 daemon princes leads this force. The first, old school one was painted by my GF and is my favourite model
Be'lakor even joined the 16th legion
An'ggrath has made it to the field! I mostly use him as a standard bloodthirster, but I really like the old
FW model.
Last, but not least; the chaos war hound scout titan Cerberus. I bought this fella when
FW had lost their Chaos Warhound cast, so I had to convert mine from the imperial one. It was a fun but tedious project. 2 months after completion,
FW re-stocked the chaos one... Oh well, this one is mine
As you can see, we had to tie him up for the photo shoot because he was so angry.
