Just to stop watching tv I replayed an old favorite game series of mine, the Crysis line.

In Crysis warhead the Australian character you play, affectionately known as "Psycho", tells a sadistic murderous north korean colonel "I'm British, you muppet." before leaving him to the tender mercies of a hostile alien vessel the size of a city block.

In the original Deus Ex (still a great game) J.C.Denton tells the main enemy who just bragged that after seizing power he would burn like the brightest star "You're gonna burn, all right."

I don't play a huge number of video games, so if you know any lines from them you think are good let's share them. I'm sure there were some good ones in bioshock 1 and 2 but don't recall them now.

"But the universe is a big place, and whatever happens, you will not be missed..."

One of the first fully voiced games I played - Bioforge - pretty much opened with:
"We should not be enemies!" beats man with his own severed arm "We should work together!" beats man with own arm "I have no wish to harm you!" kicks man in face

25 years on and the silliness of it still sticks with me.

I don't play more than a couple of videogames a year, including those ones that I already finished it (some even 10+ times).

Above everything I put the Mass Effect trilogy.

But I'm also still doing the old Baldur's Gate and Vampires and once every 3-4 years I have a complete run of those titles, so I'm very excited to try the upcoming games from these sagas.

The old Blizzard games had some really funny ones. Like the elf wizard in warcraft 3 going "for ultimate spell of destruction press control, alt, delete".

His pattern of returning alive after being declared dead occurred often enough during Cain's career that the Munitorum made a special ruling that Ciaphas Cain is to never be considered dead, despite evidence to the contrary.

Well, there’s Dawn of War. I’m a sucker for hammy performances.
“We need a new driver! This one is DEAD!”
“Drive me closer! I want to hit them with my sword!”
“SPESS MEHREENS todah the enemeh is at oua DOAR”
“Rhinos... RHIIIINOOOS! Our enemies hide in METAL BAWKSES the COWARDS, the FOOLS!”
“BEHOLD, the price of failure!”

Faithful... Enlightened... Ambitious... Brethren... WE NEED A NEW DRIVER! THIS ONE IS DEAD!

The line that always sticks in my mind due to playing through the opening of Baldur's Gate 2 with so many different characters so many times:
"Ah, the child of Bhaal has awoken. It is time for more...experiments."

"Through the darkness of future past, the magician longs to see.
One chants out between two worlds: Fire, walk with me."
- Twin Peaks
"You listen to me. While I will admit to a certain cynicism, the fact is that I am a naysayer and hatchetman in the fight against violence. I pride myself in taking a punch and I'll gladly take another because I choose to live my life in the company of Gandhi and King. My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method... is love. I love you Sheriff Truman." - Twin Peaks

Coh2 has some really great voicelines.

Especially penals and conscripts.

" War never changes" aka fallout some very memorable lines in there.

GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"

I grew up loving "Spoony Bard"

Also fond of "Flock off, feather face" from DMC and the severe melodrama of the attempted Rygar reboot.

Aurons speech before you fight Ynalesca in FF10:

"Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain, or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories! Your fate is in your hands!"
Its cheesy but ohh boy is it climatic.

Also when numerous charcters in a bunch of computer games:

"What are you going to do?"

"I'll kill em all" Ahhh yeah....

Id's first appearance in Xenogears -

"That was interesting. But dropping a warship on me is cheating. Take it back!"

Also, while not particularly dramatic or inspiring, I've always liked the most important line from Planescape: Torment -

I mean, I don't remember all the best lines, and I could go for days about the ones I do remember. But I still very distinctly remember:

"No one's left. Everything's gone. Kharak is burning..."

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Followed one mission later with the very matter-of-fact "The prisoner did not survive the interrogation."

As a comedy line I'd have to go with "Can I have some shoes?" from the GLA worker in CnC generals.

As a serious line I loved "And from that throne, I... will watch over you" from Arcturus Mengsk's inauguration speech in Starcraft. It was just the culmination of such a brilliant character arc.

"So far are we along the path... I struggle to hear our enemies as they crowd around us" from the Prophet of Truth in Halo 3 and "Such is the fate, Dun Dun, of the enemies of Man" at the end of DoW2 campaign missions also get special mentions!

Almost all of the dialogue in Banjo-Kazooie is pretty funny and quotable.

Referring back to Halo 2 like others have said, I'd have to go with Sgt. Johnson's line, "For a brick, he flew pretty good!"

YES!! This is one of my favourites too, along with same said bad guy sarcastically telling you to "jump! You can MAKE IT."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXOBlCjqfMs

For pure feels... Mordin Solus. "Had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong." Specifically, the last time he says it in Mass Effect 3.

But my absolute favourite has to be Joker in Arkham City - who, for context, is slowly dying from blood poisoning. Not the voicemails (which are absolute gold) but his cutscene line:
"Take my blood, for example. I wish somebody would. This stuff is killing me!"

There is a lack of most of Portal and its sequel in this thread. Cave, lemons, mantis men, companion cubes. Too many to list.

Psychonaughts also has some incredible lines, particularly in the Milkman Conspiracy. The cookies gag is up there, but never forget, "it's fortified with what the world needs.... with what the world... DESERVES"
