I'm hoping to field them, but am considering using Pathfinders in place of their normal role I have for them...

Pros:
• 18" speed (not terrible, especially when using it to block/impede movement the way piranha's can typically do)
• Sept rules let it have a good chance at hitting with those 36" High Intensity Markerlights
• no longer being affected by the -1 to shoot when moving
• T5 and their 36" weapons range (plus move) lets them mostly choose who may fire at them and set reasonable odds, *hopefully* they'll take shots over the truly valuable stuff
• Infiltrator
• @ 42pts they are 10.5pts per wound

Cons:
• Vehicle Squadron doesn't exist anymore (so far?),
- the unit will share wounds (as the models will be plainly visible),
- required to keep to the new 9th edition Unit Coherency.
- Parking them in a tower may help a lot for keeping the tower (5" Engagement Zone vertically, as well as Coherency).
• if misses shots, the obvious markerlight/cost-ratio doesn't compare to individual Pathfinders

For the many other considerations, the question stands - is fielding a squadron of these guys worth it in 9th?

Thank you

Pathfinders arent really going to do much in 9th, they're just so damn squishy, so the better comparison is to things like Marker Drones, Stealth Teams and Characters packing MLs.

Their major achilles heel is that they cant be protected by Drones, and with only a T5 4+ defensive profile any kind of anti-vehicle fire is just going to make them evaporate.

I think they really do have promise, but keep in mind that post-PA Tau are considerably less reliant on walls of markerlights than used to be.
