Hello all, so some advice I'm buying one chaos terminator kit as it's all I can afford and I have no bits. With the 9th coming out and what we have seen what would the best loudout be from everything that's in the box.

We all know the box lacks bits to make it great but what's the best you can do?

There's a lot we haven't seen; there could be a lot of rules text attached to the leaked weapon profiles we have no idea about. Only thing I think I'll recommend right now is taking the heavy flamer over the autocannon; the buff letting you hit people out of Deep Strike means it's probably going to be a better option most of the time.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

Particularly if you are cash-strapped, magnetizing everything is almost always the best policy.

If you are so cash-strapped that you can't afford the 5 quid worth of magnets and another 5 quid for a hand drill, then at least use super glue to glue on the arms rather than plastic cement, and use very little, so you can snap the arms off later if necessary.

But magnetization is really the way to go with stuff with variable load-outs. It's a pain to do, but I've never once regretted it.

Right now the changes to weapon profiles are a big unknown so it is pretty impossible to speculate on what'll be good and what won't be.

honestly, and my advice is the worst advice ever, but put on them what you think is cool. Mine are all over the place. I have 2 with combi meltas, one with a combi plasma, one with an autocannon, one with a heavy flamer, two with combi bolters, and two champions both with a combi bolter and a power maul, cause they want to be like hours and have their own "world breaker" (that's also why almost every champion in my black legion army has a power maul. it's so they can imitate horus in every way, including the topknot).

It may not be the best loadout, but they always get work done for me, in just about any configuration I take them in.

Whatever you do, make sure you equip them all with Trophy Racks because they're so important that they take up a ton of space on the sprue!

Eye of Terror

All of my Chaos Terminators, going back to some second edition models I really love, are magnetized. I've even changed the magnets a couple times to increase the strength of the bond.

That said - most of what I change on them are the heavy weapons, and it's usually just to swap the Reaper Autocannon for a Twin Bolter or Heavy Flamer.

If you don't have enough for magnets, stick a small round bit of sprue in the shoulder and stick it in a hole on the torso. That's what I'd do.
