Post up what 3D printer you're currently using and what projects you're making with it!

Printer: FormLabs Form2

Current Projects: Snap-fit prototype cases

Next Project: Some robotic walkers from Anvil Industries

I've also been super tempted by the Anycubic Photon and Elegoo Mars, so I'm excited to see who is using those printers here, and what you're making with them!

I'm posting it on my own thread, but:

Printer: Elegoo Mars

Current Project: Clone Wars era SWLegion miniatures (20 microns per layer, 4x AA)

I'll be posting more, closer pics soon.

Yeah, A 3D thread I won’t have to manage ......sucker .

My name is Theo and 3D printing Addict .

Printer: Ender 3 (Regular, not a pro, though I have added just about all the upgrades to make mine a pro)
Current Project: getting my hobby desk organized. Printing paint racks.
Next Project: too many ideas, but most likely more terrain for Frostgrave, Ragnarok, Bushido or Gaslands.

This mornings print fresh off the Ender 3.

The picture is actually very important. The left is a raft that I print whenever I’m doing tiny or multiple parts to make sure nothing breaks free. The five holy strips on the right are the five no sag back pieces for a section of army painter dropper bottle racks. I recently adjusted my raft air gap to 0.4mm and these came off with little fuss as opposed to the pain of the last few prints where the air gap was 0.2mm and I had to cut the parts off.

I just started printing the sides (2) of the rack and will do the fronts tonight when I get home from work.

This is the Thingiverse item number 3263946 by Montbel which is based off of the same design by bbzed, it just has some added struts to keep the bars from sagging due to the weight of the bottles. Here is a profile of the bbzed model printed, one of my first prints from months ago.

Material wise the 30 bottle section of rack will cost me $3.44 to print for the first one and $2.90 for each additional section as the end of one can be used for the next side.

I’ve spent the last four days printing pegboard racks for my GW paints. Here is a picture of about half of them that I have done. Thingiverse item 1374310 by ShadyRabbit.

That part cost $0.42 each and takes about 3 hours each to print. I got 24 of them done, but with the raft adjustment working I might be able to go back and get 3 done at a time and have less down time between prints.

LOL, Theo your mind is an amazing place, never change.-camkierhi 9/19/13

I’ve got an Ender 3 Pro, mostly experimented with play aids and terrain. Been having some issues with adhesion lately so got disheartened and distracted. Need to fire it up more often.

@Theo: I tried dong some pegboard stuff, but the pegs just sheared right off when I tried to mount them. I blame the inherent weakness of the layers. Just bought some table racks after that fail.

Printer: Ender 3 Pro, Anycubic Photon due any day now (damn anniversary sale! )

Current projects: An ever growing mountain of DnD minis, currently working on an epic Ancient Black Dragon , about 50 hours total with just the base left to do.

Next project: learning the Photon with some LotR minis from The Printing Goes Ever On, and figuring out resin support setup (any tips much appreciated). Then printing all the spindly, tiny, detailed minis I haven't dared attempt on the Ender...

@Nev: I was having a ton of adhesion issues recently, I found these first layer settings worked a treat:
Spoiler:

Initial temp 210
Bed temp 65
Initial Layer height 0.3
Initial layer speed 15mm/s
Brim width 10mm

My printers are:

FDM - I3 Mega... something. It started off as an I3 Mega, then I upgraded it to an I3 Mega S, and now I have messed with it a bit more so I dunno.

Resin - Anycubic Photon (the OG one!), Anycubic Photon S. I'm really only using the Photon S right now, and sparingly at that.

It's difficult for me to say what projects I am working on, because the way I am, I always have like 15 or 20 half finished things I flit between. Offhand, I am doing: A lightly modified Sororitas landing pad from a indiegogo, a chapel that is a blend of Pegasus terrain with some flooring and walls I designed and printed, some Necron terrain I printed with stl's from Etsy (!), the Sulaco from Aliens, a big ol Velociraptor from My Mini Factory, a retro Mad Cat battlemech, and another goddamn giant Godzilla - this one the 2014 US version. It's printed, I just need to start assembling and painting it.

If you want to see what i have done, I have posted writeups of most of it in the Showcase forum, and I prefix "3D printed" or some variant to every thread I post if it's appropriate.

Spoiler:

Awesome work, Ouze!! I am finishing up a series of games, Cavern Quest Warriors and Realm Lords (KS completed) with just the last few remnants for family/friends' copies, but now moving on to my next project that will kick off in the next couple of months on KS: Minotaur Catacombs. All prototypes are done and look fantastic and getting the minis painted now for pics and rules are all finished - really excited for this one.

All of the printing on an Elegoo Mars, with my Ender 3 Pro used for larger terrain only.

These are just some first prototype pics for Minotaur Catacombs, with some with paint adhesion testing:

Woooo, A new forum section for me to frequent

Printer I currently have operating: Prusa i3 MK3S

Printer I have just ordered: Anycubic Photon Mono

I've been using the Prusa for terrain, game pieces, some tanks and random widgets like science experiments and lighting baffles for my Detolf cabinet.

Favourite bits so.far I think are the Imperial.Terrain industrial shipyard terrain kickstarter and the free Blackstone Fortress terrain kits off thingiverse.

Oh, and the necromunda zone mortals walls.off thingiverse too!

Ooh, also kill team counters.

Future plans for the resin printer are for some 10mm scale tanks from Antenocitis Workshop to try out Horizon wars, and some Raygun Raptors!

And at some point soon I really need to paint some of this.stuff!

My first 3D printer was an Anycubic Photon, which I still love to bits and for bits. My thing is to mod minis with custom parts.
Later I bought an Prusa i3mk3s, which allowed me to make some upgrade parts for my K40 (cheap Ebay C02 laser).
All of these eat digital models and either print or cut to produce stuff.

After printing finished designs from Thingiverse or elsewhere for a while, I'm working my way to simple designs from scratch, so far only hard-edge modeling.

I've printed a bunch of 40K stuff from Thingiverse as base deco for my Adeptus Titanicus models.
See: https://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-76449-60011_Adeptus%20Titanicus.html

My most recent completed project is this MDF/XPS airbrush job:

I've had an Anycubic Mega-S since November. So far been mostly printing 28mm terrain, 15 kg of it. Might have spent more on STLs by now than on the printer and plastic.

First coherent project was this Ghost Archipelago table. STLs mostly by EC3D and Printable Scenery. Islands are hand crafted from foam.

Spoiler:

This month I bought a Mars 2 Pro Mono for my SLA needs, haven't hooked it up yet due to space/safety concerns. I was offered space in a workshop yesterday, hopefully I can set it up soon and get cracking. First project will be Man o' War fleets.

I have one of the new Anycubic Photon Monos headed my way (was supposed to be here Sunday, so any day now) and I've...never used it before.

Tradition demands that the first thing I print on it be a Gretchin, so my test print will be a cute set of grot mechanics I found on thingiverse. but I have only ever touched 3d printing during my undergrad capstone project so we'll see how this goes!

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"
