I just received an email from GW, spend £40 online and get £6 off my next order.

“A £6 Voucher Just For You...

Despite everything going on, the Warhammer hobby is healthier than ever. That’s in large part thanks to you and the amazing community of Warhammer fans around the world sharing positivity and great projects online.

To say thanks, we've a free £6 voucher for you.
All you need to do to claim your voucher is spend £40 on games-workshop.com by the 30th of September and we’ll give you a voucher for £6 to redeem against an order in October.

What's more, once you use your voucher, we'll give you another one! (Rumour has it there might even be a third voucher on the offing…)
That’s it. Now, go grab those kits you’ve been eyeing up.”

The promise or rumour of further vouchers too, it’s a nice move.
Shame you have to spend to get the voucher..

If I was being sceptical I would wonder what the strings attached to the voucher are. If you need to spend another 30 or 40 quid in October as well, it starts to get less generous. However, vouchers will always have utility to someone, so it's still nice.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

In the US it is $9 off of a $65 order, or ~14% which puts it just under the 15% discount they allow mail-order retailers in the US.

It's an odd move. It provides some incentive to shop at their online store while also undercutting their 3rd party channels. What's strange is that the value of the voucher drops proportionally the more you spend, and the selected target will likely drive most people to order sizes around $85-120 just based on where their SKU price points sit. Seems like they're trying to acculturate monthly spending, but it's strange there's no ladder of benefits, e.d. spend $65 and get $9, spend 130 and get $25, etc.

Honestly, would rather they had some monthly free model or something, similar to what Wyrd has done in the past. It's higher perceived value and marginal extra cost on their side.

Appears they’re A/B testing the heck out of this! I was offered £5 for spending £50. Friend was offered £6 for £40! Rude!

Seems almost like they're tailoring the voucher to what you've spent on their shop in X period. I got the £10 off a £60 order.

Yeah, I basically don’t ever buy from there (must be over five years minimum..), so I suppose I got the lowest..

Maybe they give you the voucher based on what you’ve been looking at. So the £100 one people were looking at big items

Almost certainly.

When I order, I order large. And that has been helped by procuring stock for the Loot Group during lockdown, as I had the cash to spare, and was aware it may have been the opposite for others.

Yes, I am lovely and thoughtful of others.

I haven't bought anything from their online store and still got a voucher (small: 7eur for 50eur spent). So they hand them out just for being subscribed to the newsletter, I guess.
Still get better prices from discounts at local stores and currently there ain't gw products I want. The voucher will go down the drain.

Hmmm no email to me. Don't think i'll try risking it. Could have been nice enough. While flgs provides comparable discount this could be used for web store only items which don't have discount from flgs

Spend £50 in the next 5 days to get £5 off on a subsequent purchase next month.

It's a nice thought, but I dunno where you think I'm gonna get that money from GW...

I got this one too. Interesting algorithm they're using, even in the UK.

I doubt I'll use it, for various reasons. Partly because my Pile of Shame is big enough I don't really feel the need to make it any bigger right now.

I got $14 for spending $99. Works out near to my FLGS 15% off, but plus shipping... it's close enough that I might make a purchase to see if the next voucher escalates in % at all or if they'll be the same.

There's no free shipping in us? I get one if order is 25e(less than codex or...well pretty much any box)

While not stellar discount(since you need to order something in october to use it) does have advantage of webstore items being usable for voucher. If i get email(aka safe for me to order) might get some ogor mawtribe webstore items.

Spend €80,- and get €12,- on my end, which is a bit annoying timing wise, as I just visited my local store today to get some expensive stuff.

I still want to order some books before the end of the month, but bumping it up to €80,- is going to be a bit hard right now.

After reading the first posts here, I just assumed it was simply a big experiment: see what combination of 1) percentage of discount and 2) minimum order size will lead to people placing an order.

For completion, my offer was 12€ after spending 80€.

See timing wise this is a bad move - Septembers money is spent

That said do remember that GW has vouchers on their website so if you can't think of anything you want you could get a voucher with the money. Esp if your'e saving up for a big necron or marine or Sons release

So far people have mentioned 9/65, 14/99 or 25/170 (for US). All around 14% [13.8%-14.7%]
And a vague promise of more kibble if you keep mashing the button when the bell rings. That troublesome aspect aside, its useful if already planning a purchase (and with two big releases next month, the voucher isn't anything to sneeze at).

Personally, the trouble is, a quick glance tells me that the things I've been trying to buy since spring are still out of stock.

I assume the short time frame (5 days, basically) to qualify is intentional.

I'd bet a finger that this is entirely the point. Stocks at third party sellers (that I use) are falling again, much like they did in the run up to Indomitus. I've been thinking that stocks are taking a hit again as they're ramping up the pre-December made to order Indom boxes. This offer lines up neatly with my theory - they know that they're going to be short on many SKUs in the coming period and so, much like they did with Indomitus, they want to sell stuff that they can't make right now but will be able to make later on. Hence a limited time offer (this voucher). Buy now, time (or in the case of Indomitus, stock) is limited ! !

Almost never (with these types of offers, from most retailers) so I assume not with GW (eg if Amazon sends you a limited time discount voucher, you can't buy Amazon vouchers with it)

Far as I'm aware you just have to spend X on the GW store no matter what you buy, including vouchers.

At least that is how it worked last time they did this earlier in the year.

Note the only limit is that GW segregates their vouchers. So digital ones only work on the digital store; physical ones only work in the physical store; forgeworld ones only work in forgeworld etc....
