I'm new to Idoneth Deepkin and am thinking of this list below

As a fellow Idoneth Deepkin player, I have a few ideas. The sad truth about the IdK right now is that the only way to be at all competitive is eel spam. To optimize this, I would choose Dhom-hain as your enclave. That said, if your not a competitive player, this is a nice list. Maybe a squad of thralls or reavers to balance it out.
FYI, if you are a more narrative gamer, the choice of Volturnos over a generic Akhelian King might cause trouble, as Volturnos is the king of the Ionrach enclave.

I don't know if any of these apply to you, but what it really comes down to is if you want a competitive list or a narrative one. If I know what your style is, I might have some more advice.

Are we taking the new campaign book updates into account?

Consider; Games Workshop rules not so much games but as toolboxes for players to craft an experience from, and open/narrative/matched play just examples of how things can be put together.
