Just looking at the Imperial Armour Compendium contents it seems that a few miniatures are still being sold but are absent there. Just a few are
Imperial Guard Gorgon Transporter
Zhufor, the Chaos Space Marine character
Samus, the Daemon prince (though might be being removed from 40K as he's more of a 30K model perhaps?)
Are there any other examples people have noticed?
(EDIT - Plague Toads and Pox Riders too it would seem...)

The Gorgon was gone for a long, long time before coming back unexpectedly- I would assume it's intended to be permanently retired soon.

Plague toads/pox riders = beasts or spawn
Zhufor = terminator Lord
Samus = daemon Prince
Gorgon = paper weight

Some of these models seem to be intended for 30k only. Then there is also the collector's aspect.

The book is written months in advances so chances are some models shift in priority. Eg the Tome Stalker was to be in the book but has been removed form sale for the Necrons (or Sentinel I forget which). I figure because the old model used the green rods which are being phased out.
The Gorgon might well have been off-sale when the book was written and then brought back.
Thing is we never really have much heads up from FW (or GW) when or if things will go. FW removed whole chunk of AoS models at last Christmas and they weren't old or bad sculpts (wolfrats - magma dragon - warpfire dragon) they were just randomly removed in a wave. We've no idea if it was mass broken moulds (someone dropped a pallet); or a strategic move to remove stuff that wasn't selling (that GW was also not advertising that much); or other things.

I was about to drop a lot of money on a used Vampire Hunter about 6 months ago. Glad I didn't.
|
As an aside, as "infinite" rolls is actually impossible even if the FAQ "allows" it, then it will always be a non-zero chance to pass them all. Eventually the two players will die. If they pass the game on to their decendents, they too will eventually die. And, at the end of it all, the universe will experience heat death and it, too, will die. In the instance of "infinite" hits, we're talking more of functional infinity, rather than literal.
RAW you can't pass the game onto descendants, permissive ruleset. Unless we get an FAQ from GW.

Just as an FYI, Zhufor is specifically a World Eaters terminator lord.
Removing him from the FW book makes me hopeful that an actual WE codex is in the works.

Wish i could be so optimistic. Zhufor was one of the main bad guys from Siege of Vraks with Commisar Maughs corpse spiked on top of his armor, and a World Eater too. Im very sad to see him go :( This just slims down our allready skinny roster of lords. Now we just have Kharn who is very squishy and barely playable, despite his many attacks.

Really dislike how they're pushing so many things into legends, just glad that I only play noncompetitive and so far noone has objected to me running Legends. I assume they're moving everything that that do not plan to release a model for as well as everything that they plan on dropping from the store soon into legends - at least they're giving some kind of warning this time. Still looking for a Caestus Ram since I missed out on that before it was gone :(
