I started painting my 20 necron warriors from indomitus and they sure seem fragile. Wrists break quite easily, lower legs bend, you really should glue them to stop them coming apart during painting and they seem to require care to drybrush, and who doesn't drybrush necron warriors?
Anyone else notice this?

It's GW's new style of detailed but flimsy. I have one on my desk and it's a wobbly mess of a model. It doesn't feel sturdy at all.

It sounds about right.
GW are doing the "because we could, but we didnt think if we should", just to show off how fancy and detailed they can make things in plastic now.
Which, in general, is great, except they keep putting thin things that arent attached, the AD are good examples of this, so many mechadendrites and things that snap if you blow on them.

I got a good tip from a historical wargaming group for dealing with flimsy plastic models. Before priming the models, give them a coat of superglue, Since then I've never had a problem with thin rifles etc breaking.

I think too it helps combat re-casters, who might be trying to cast the kits in lower quality plastic and then break easier. Like, the entire nighthaunt miniatures range is like that.

Eh I'd wager this is very unlikely.
It's more likely its just a result of GW's design system shifting from purely hand sculpted to digitally sculpted. Coupled to having parting staff and technology with far more skill than in the past. Thus allowing them to achieve shapes and forms that were, in the past, near impossible or very time consuming and perhaps expensive (test moulds/shapes/failures) to produce. It's like the shift from almost all one or two part metals to multi-part plastics. The new methods allow them to achieve new things and realise new designs.
I do agree that GW is heading more and more into more exotic and less practical gaming designs; however when I look at the market the rest of it is doing quite similar things too. There's a lot more scope for creativity now than there was 20 years ago and designers are going wild because those wild designs DO prove to be easier to sell.
PS if you think necrons are bad try some Daughters of Khaine Khinerai

Yeah, ghawd forbid they combat recasters by lowering their excessive prices. They might actually increase sales...
I suppose they'll now raise prices yet again, as always, this time claiming the cost of the new fragile superdetailed minis (Whose detail is invisible under actual playing conditions where you're looking at them from like 3-6 feet away) has to be passed onto the addic- er, customers.
I also notice the new scarabs have tiny fragile legs , personally i was fine with the older, more techno looking ones. But I guess uncle GW realized people like me were stretching our supply by putting 3 on a base instead of 4and recasting them in green stuff (And I still will! Nyah!). AAAUUUUGGGGHHHHH!!! A .003% DROP IN POTENTIAL PROFIT!!! QUICK SPEND TENS OF THOUSANDS OF POUNDS TO MAKE A NEW SCARAB CASTING!!!
