Hey folks
Ive been reading up on the epic tale, "The acient Awaits"
Even tho i play Blood angels, i love the emperors childrens colour schem and their lore.
I was thinking about doing a own costum chapter, basing it on one of the firstfoundings or make one of my very own.
But when i look trough the rules, I think Blood angels and their traits, rules and angel iconografy are compatebel
So
What do you think about doing a Purpel/gold army, with blood angels rules, calling it The sons of Rylanor and just resculpting some of the characters and so on.

Absolutely, go for it! That sounds 100% more interesting than having a coincidentally-purple Chapter called "Angels of Blood".
From a modelling perspective, if you want those parts that have angels on them, you might have fun trying to sort out the blood drops. So it could be a good idea to look at Dark Angels models too, whose angels are typically holding swords instead.

If inspiration strikes, do it. Counts as armies with strong themes are a great thing for the hobby.

Likewise, if you feel a set of rules suits what you want to play, use those. It's not like all those World Eater armies of yore weren't using Space Wolf rules that were simply better for the berserker horde feel a couple of editions back.

Funnily enough, me and one of my regular opponents have a situation where my semi-loyalist Death Guard offshoot uses the traitor DG codex while his renegade space pirate marines use the loyalist SM rules as those fit their themes better

#ConvertEverything blog with loyalist Death Guard in true and Epic scales. Also Titans and killer robots! C&C welcome.

Do it! This sort of thing has always been a huge part of the game.
