This week in a home near you...
I'm fighting a 2k list of tyranids.I know the rough layout he plays, but I dont want to have it tailored, but rather if this list could work since I diverged from my usually very shooty playstyle to a more board-control style game.
The rough list:
Cawl
Manipulus (Divination of the Magos)
Enginseer (Mechanicum Locum for Monitor Malevolus)
5x Breachers /w Arc Rifle, Arc Claw
5x Destroyers /w Plasma Culverin, Cognis Flamer
2x5 Rangers /w 2 Arqubi
2x10 Vanguard /w 3 Plasma Calivers
1x3 Dakkabots /w 3 Phosphor Blasters'
2x Skorpius Disintegrators /Belleros
2x Skorpius Dunerider
Gameplan is "easy"
Cawl's castle will try to take the middle. Breachers will screen to the front, Destroyers will screen towards the back. Manipulus will sit beside cawl and increase the threat range of all 3 units.
The Vanguards will embark in a Dunerider and, together with a Disintegrator, try and get the flanks.
Rangers sit on the backfield objective with potential support by the destroyers to hold (that is my potential weakspot).
The Enginseer is just there to provide CP Regen and hopefully get a repair off.
The core of the list are of course the dakkabots with exploding 6's, Wrath of Mars and hopefully being repaired enough to stay in the game a bit for Elimination Volley to take effect.
The flanks can emergency disembark onto the objective, clear gaunts with the high volume of fire whereas the disintegrators either help or use the S7 and S8 guns on big monsters respectively.
Breachers at this point turn into autocannons and are a genuine threat.
If the rangers get deepstruck and/or killed, the destroyers can fall back a bit and retake the objective.
With this I hope to establish control over most of the board...
Secondary Objectives? No clue. Engage on all fronts, bring it down, thin their ranks?
