I was looking at kill team, and of course gw has a nice big expensive box with plastic terrain. I remembered original necromunda wits its card and plastic terrain system and was wondering if anyone still made that. Are there any sources that produce that style of terrain with sheet cards and plastic joiners anymore?

There was an article in White Dwarf where they went over the history of scenery in Warhammer and the Necromunda scenery was apparently a milestone for them.

Not sure about suppliers but with basic plasticard skills, using art shop card stock, it would be a straightforward project for a novice. Fun too!

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

Foam board, my friend!

A 24”x30” sheet of 1/4” thick board costs $1.25 at the Dollarama down town and builds 3-4 good sized ruins... or whatever else you want to build.

Hmm, think i saw them but never got any, not willing to risk a lot of $ on a new thing now, can you point me at a good source for budget versions, preferably that sells in america? Thanks.

An eBay search on ‘mdf 40k buildings’ should do the trick. Or an Interweb search on ‘paper craft wargames terrain’. Try the ‘images’ filter to see before you click :-)

TTCombat do some good MDF scenery, I recently made a purchase there and got some good quality and affordable stuff. They do ship to USA but I don't know how much it would be!

I've also seen (somewhere) a kickstarter campaign for books of pop-up wargaming scenery, which looks pretty cool but may leave the board looking a bit grid-like without some more scatter terrain.

Look up Tinkerturf by TinkerHouse Games, it's heavy cardstock terrain.

For US-based mdf terrain:

Death Ray Designs

Promethium Forge

Every Little War - these guys license mdf terrain from a bunch of other companies, but cut and ship from the US.

Agreed. They've got some lovely sci-fi options, including wasteland-y and clean/bright stuff. I also like that they incorporate lots of stairs and gantries into their kits; I always loved that about the old Necromunda terrain.
