To all the US folks
Hope you're getting stuffed! Our bird was a little undercooked though, and so is spending a little more quality time in the oven...

Hope those of you on the crazier side of the Atlantic have a good day, filled with good food, and absolutely no politics at the table

Happy Thanksgiving to those down south! Don't know why your Thanksgiving is a little later than ours, but hope yours is good all the same.

Its just me and my mom this year. While several of my family are willing to risk to get together, we are not.

I just celebrate both your and ours. If there is food involved, I’ll celebrate most any holiday, regardless of origin.
Had dinner virtually with my folks, was nice to chat. I’ll get The Boy after he is done visiting/eating with his mother’s family (who he has routine contact with, so today is not boosting his exposure).
Cooked myself a full moderate sized bird, so plenty of leftovers for the near future. Which is the best part of the holiday IMHO.
Best wishes to everyone this holiday, wether you celebrate it or not. It’s good to have a plate of comfort food and focus on all the things we are thankful for. Probably should do it more often.
Be healthy, be safe, be happy.

Had to struggle through the first family Zoom meeting.
The first part of which mostly involved repeatedly explaining to people that I couldn't remotely activate someone else's camera, trying to guess where it would be on whatever kind of device they had (they didn't actually answer any questions about what they were using) and waiting until they identified the Very Obvious Button that they just hadn't pushed (that took about 10 minutes, to a reveal a room with almost no lighting whatsoever, beyond a TV and a ceiling light behind them ).
Then listened to people babble over each other for half-an-hour with poor volume control. And dad grumbling that he had wanted more people on (which would have been nightmarish), and didn't seem to grasp why my brother's ex-wife (their daughter was at her place) didn't want to get on a call with his latest wife and their new baby. Awkward. But grandkids and great grandkids were seen by my parents, so... success. And the specter of doing it all over again in a month with more people.
Dinner was good, though. But we have leftovers for days... a fifteen pound turkey and a half-dozen side dishes weren't really necessary for three people, but I was over-ruled.
