Hey guys - I am considering adding a unit of MK III marines painted up in DG colors to my current Death Guard 40K army. I think it would be sort of a sad twist to have a single unit of MK III that hadn't bloated/warped into tentacled masses who fight alongside their rotten brethren, not realizing that they too are warped by chaos.

That said, I have concerns about the size of the GW Mark III Marine squad next to the current Plague Marines. Is it a sizable difference? Would the MK III be tiny next to one? Anyone around that have both that could give me a comparison shot?

Follow up question: Anyone using Putrid Blightkings as Possessed? Anyone have any issues with your base size? I wonder if the new Possessed (since they will be 3W) will be going to 40mm bases, meaning all the 32mm ones will need to be updated or they will be reboxed.

I'm hoping I can use my Kings in exactly the same way. Some of the more popular channels are already using Gal Vorbak (40mm) as Possessed so I'm hoping they know something I dont.

I'll get you a comparison pic.

I don't have the best comparison as mine are on masonry but I think they'd be fine. Cool concept having some for contrast.

*Edit: moved things around to try and give a better idea

Thanks! That's not too bad of a size difference. I'm also thinking of using Gal Vorbak just because they're so cool. It would take some kitbashing with DG shoulderpads, but if they're on 40mm, that worries me. I wouldn't want to show up with a pricey unit like Gal Vorbak to have my opponent disagree with their size. I guess the real answer is to wait for the codex, but I really wanted to get them done so I could play with them week 1 of the codex drop.

Wouldn't be a simple task as the Blessed Sons aren't very modular (arms, shoulder pads, body all one piece in every sculpt)

Who knows maybe a new bigger kit is on the way. Best of both worlds. Improve on those awful existing ones and easily let us use Kings/Vorbak.
