So I was planning to build a big cathedral like ruin for my gaming table out of some GW kits. Among the ones I wanted to use is the sector imperialis basilicanum, but I can't find it anymore. It's vanished from the GW site and nobody else seems to be having it in stock anymore. Has that terrain piece just gone OOP?

GW rarely if ever explicitly say if something is out of production.

It was withdrawn from the US store a few months ago but then was still available in the UK. Not its gone from UK too.

Is it gone forever, or just getting reboxed or something? Can't really say for sure...

My gut tells me it might be gone for good.. they discontinue old terrain without any warning, the STC ruins being a recent example.

Check your local stores, they might still have some stock? Better move soon or all that will be left are the offerings of ebay scalpers..

They did the same with the wall of martyrs kits, just vanished over time. Same for the deathworld stuff.

Damn, that thing would have been essential for my build...maybe I can still find one for a non ridiculous price.

I was also extremely bummed out, that they discontinued every single forgeworld terrain piece this year....I wanted to pick up the necron tomb world for some time and now I'm out of luck...

I don't know what you are trying to do, but I just wanted to make sure you also looked at the Pegasus Models various Gothic building sets. Nothing against GW here, but just wanted you to be aware. I have built some of the Pegasus kits and they are very good.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

Would be a real shame if that stuff vanished, given that it's not exactly old. I mean they still sell this and this, which use parts of those kits.

The fact that most of their terrain is China-made probably has something to do with it why they stop supporting stuff with no warning, sometimes region by region. They probably contract by the batch, and not always to the same producer. So when a contract runs out, if they don't want to do a whole new round of bids and production, they just scrap it region by region as they sell down the remaining stock.

This is a complete guess, but it'd explain why the terrain gets treated quite differently from the rest of their line.
