So the base I normally do for my models, is a sort of dusty landscape with patches of short grass done with flock, an example of which is pictured below.

I'm going to start collecting and kit bashing Iron Warriors (I don't play, I just paint), and would like to change it up, since my Blood Angels and Nightlords models use bases like the above base. I'm not really sure how I should go about changing it up. I read up on Iron Warriors lore, and learned that their home world is some sort of planet-sized fortress. I've also considered doing a jungle base, though I don't know how that would work with Iron Warriors. Any and all comments and suggestions are welcome.

I think martian surface would look brilliant against the Iron Warriors scheme.

*Disclaimer I've been playing entirely too much Doom of late.

I voted other. I reckon wet mud and barbed wire and stuff would suit these dudes a ton. Real trench warfare vibe would make them look really gritty.

For mine I went with a wet mud effect so it looks like the ground they are fighting over is chewed up like the bottom of a trench. Alternatively go with a rubble look, all that matters is that they look like they have been fighting there for a while they are chaos masters of siege warfare after all!
