I've been looking for a way to adjust one simple aspect of my GK Paladins. I want to make their heavy weapons shoulder mounted.
Though sadly, I've been looking for the correct bits to have the process look as seamless as possible and I keep running dry.

I've used everything that I could from ad-mech, to some of the older pewter bits on tech-marines and some judicial application of miliput. It's just that nothing seems to really be working at this point.

I have no issue in grinding down the weaponry to a point where it looks sleek enough to fit up there, but when it comes to the mounting. The weapon looks to be either too fragile (spoiler: usually is), or it looks to be far too stiff and it just doesn't appear to fit with the design well.

Does anyone have some other suggestions?
Because I'm about ready to just switch out their torsos entirely, grind down a centerline piece and head mount the weapon like those old Saturnine model concepts.

Maybe if I can find some Tartaros chest bits at some point.

As a concept, I've always wanted the weapon to look as though it could actively swivel from around their shoulder and allow for a certain degree of movement. Then when not in use, the arm would be sturdy and flexible enough to slide the weapon towards the Paladin's back. Laying along the armors vent vertically.

I had to postpone my Deathklok (chaos lords) for much the same reason. Because I was running out of ways to actually accomplish what I wanted to do.

One has to wonder. Do the Tyranids consider drop-assault troops... fast food?

Is what you really want a bit that looks like a mechanical arm that could hold the weapon? One that looks sturdy enough to actually accomplish without breaking?
Look at this pic from my gallery. The Dread's claw arm. The piece coming from the shoulder is the leg off some sort of set in place gun emplacement I somehow had in my bitz box. I believe it held a lascannon turret. I just cannot think of the model's name. Defense turrets probably.
(If I'm way off here, sorry to have taken your time)

Go the about the 45 second point in this video. I'm taking it you'd like a mount that is more like the shoulder mount seen here, rather than something akin to the Predator blaster.

If so, perhaps you could mount a small spacer between the body and the arm that extends up (or back for a folded position).
