FYI a Drider is a half beautiful woman and half giant spider (usually a black widow type)
When the Daughters of Khaine came out I was very pleased with the half snake ascetic. It just works. There’s something very appropriate in a story about a pantheon of deities involving cursed snake women.
Having played Pathfinder I was curious if people thought they might expand this idea to other creatures for the Daughters? In particular half spiders because it’s arguably worse than the snakes in levels of monstrous. Now, bit of a lore problem. Morathi is meant to be making the Melusai and Kinari in her image and she’s definitely not a spider. Suggesting an expansion to their range might simply add more snake and harpy units instead.
What if Malerions faction rolls with this idea instead? That way you could still see a family connection with the hybridised Aelves but keep them distinct. You could kind of see the God of Shadows having an army of half aelf spiders. However, the artwork for Malerion makes him look very draconic so he’s likely to be closer to Morathi in general shape as a winged serpent himself.
So what if, bit like the Lumineth, these form a distinct sub group within a larger army? Plus, it might be a good way to bring Hellebron or another Old World character back. I mean as villains I really liked Shelob (inc shadow of war) and the more eldritch Ungoliant in the LOTR and Silmarillion as these sinister creatures lurking in the dark places. You could quite easily see Malerion pulling a Morgoth and making a pact with an insane giant spider; although that depends on if Morathi has already been pegged for that role in the narrative.
Also, on a related point. Do you think Morathi is currently working with Malerion or is she striking her own path? I get the jealous angle and recall bits of the book where she mentions resenting her son spurning her. But surely it makes him powerful if his mother becomes a Goddess and weakens Sigmar? Plus there was that one lore story where in the Necroquake story where they’re depicted as working together as the feuding duo. On the other hand they could well want the funny of “you did what?!” So that he can clean up her mess.
