So I’ve got my space marine codex linked to my account, but it still shows as locked in the app on my iPad and tells me to subscribe. Does anyone know if that Is that working as intended? I thought I would have access to the codex at least even without a subscription.

As far as I understand you should get access to all the rules+ data sheets but you don't get the codex per se.

Really? I believed, like the OP, that your Codex code gave you that Codex alone for free and the full subscription got you the rest of the codices? Or is that only for the old codices?

You should be able to access your codex with the code, with or without a subscription.

Subscribing gets you access to the army builder, plus basic features like searching.
It also gives you access to all the 8th edition books, but those will be disappearing as each 9th edition version is released, at which point you'll need a code to use them.

If you can't access your codex, that's a bug.
Not surprising as the app has been a bad joke to date.
Contact customer support about the issue, hopefully they can resolve it.

I was wrong. You should indeed be able to access your codex with the code using the free version of the app:

I looked at a forgeworld entry, which I have access to, but it said I didn't. I signed out and signed back in which restored my access so that might be worth a try.

Restart your app, should work. I've had to do it for the Necron Codex and Forgeworld book I added, both appeared locked, restarted the app and they worked.

I have frequently noticed it takes a bit for the app the remember you have access to something. I’ll open it up, check a datasheet, and it shows as locked. Go back, reopen the datasheet, and now it works.

After some troubleshooting I determined the problem is only on my iPad. On my phone I can access all the units. Weird.
