I am adding a small detachment of armigers (2 warglaive, 1 helvrin) to my catachan list.

What household traits do you find work best for these small knights?

House Krast is both Mechanicus and grants full re-rolls to hit in melee. As most of your Armigers are doing most of their work in close combat, that is the house I would pick.

Honorable mention goes to Taranis for the 6+++ and just making all three tougher. The Helverin could also benefit from a custom house with a +1 AP if 12'' or less and a fall-back-and-shoot ability. This would not help the Warglaives much though. You could also look at House Griffith for +1 Attack in the first round of combat and the ability to heroically intervene 3''. This would let you hold objectives with them a little better.

It would also be worth looking at trading out the Helverin for a 3rd Warglaive, as they benefit more from their pack attack strategim and could focus the house choice to work more on all of your dudes. I understand that there are a lot of things that go into that choice however, including model availability!

Yeah, my catachan list is a pretty melee heavy list with a couple units sitting in the backfield... so and extra more durable backfield ranged was what I was looking for... also my frontline may be a little crowded. That said... I have them magnetized to be both so I could go to a 3rd warglaive as well if I wanted.
