As I'm now the proud owner of an Undead 1/2ling army (minis from TTCombat), I'm in the process of sifting through the various AoS undead books/FAQs/etc to get a list together.

Reading the Nagash & the Nighthaunt books I notice that the Black Coach has two different warscrolls. With waaay different pt values.
So vaguely knowing they've made some changes to some of the units/warscrolls, & who can use what, I go look through each books FAQs/Errata/Designer Commentary.
I find nothing useful on the subject, but I do find this perplexing bit in the Legions Nagash Commentary:

Q: Can I use the new model for the Nighthaunt Black Coach to
represent a Legion Black Coach?
A: Only if your opponent agrees to let you use it as a
proxy model.

https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/age_of_sigmar_legions_of_nagash_designers_commentary_en.pdf

???
What the hell are they talking about?
They don't make a "Legion Black Coach" kit. Nor did they as of July 2019 when this commentary was published.

So what's GW think a Nagash player should be using model-wise for the Coach? ???

Note that we're not talking about wich rules to use, just what physical model gets put on the table.

*For the record? If I run a Black Coach with my 1/2lings I'll just use my ages old WHFB 5th(?)ed metal one. It's served for plenty of D&D games over the decades, but it's never yet seen use on WHFB/AoS table. Conveniently its scaled just about right for for a 1/2ling army.

This is the Legion Black Coach...

It's the old model, which is a bit smaller than the Nighthaunt Black Coach.

Yep, and just about right for my 1/2lings.

Wich is no longer sold.
And likely wasn't the day (if not before) the Nighthaunts version arrived.

Wich leads to the musings of what GW expects a LoN player to be using, then or especially now.

You convert it by not putting on the spirits flying alongside, and remove the two front horses, and slap it on a smaller base.

And then it will be just in time to get replaced or removed entirely, because resin OOP is pretty much a death sentence.

According to the Base Sizes doc, both Black Coaches should be on a 170 x 105mm.

you're not supposed to use it, that's why both NH and LoN ones are so bad.

I think that the Black Coach will be a Nighthaunt only model when the Legions of Nagash book gets re-printed. It's only in that book now, as it predates nighthaunt.

The NH one isn't bad, but it isn't a straightforward unit to use either. The LoN one though...
