My group is looking for 3 player missions. 1v1v1. Currently objectives and secondary's can be quite hard with 3 players to work out.

Anyone have any ideas or things they have done that have worked?

I'd advise you just play 1v2, thousand times simpler.

Kill Team's activation system works a lot better 1v1v1 than 40k's.

AoS 1st edition had a nice 3 or 4 way scenario in the back of the book that worked well for it. Maybe someone you know has the book and you could see if it works for 40K?

40k: Space Marines (Rift Wardens) - 8050pts.
T9A: Vampire Covenants 2060pts.

3 player games are really hard to do. I'd say in kill team you can do it, in 40k you're 100% better off doing 2v1.

Wolfspear's 2k
Harlequins 2k
Chaos Knights 2k
Spiderfangs 2k
Ossiarch Bonereapers 1k

We play them every now and then when an odd number of guys show up to the FLGS on game night.

They are rather limited on what kind of mission you can do though.

We usually either do King of the hill, capture the flag, or kill points, or some combination of.

Alternitavly, you can do an ambush type mission with one player at 2k points and 2 other players coming from opposite ends of the table each with their own goals and 1250pts each. Big player just wants to survive, i.e. WWSWF style. One small player wants to assasinate. The other small player wants to wreck stuff and scavange.
Or big player is attacking one of the small players base and second small player comes to reinforce (or just ransack from both players).

The smaller players can attack each other as well for points.

Look up the scenario from 3rd. Name was something like "Untrustworthy Allies". This was our favorite scenario and we played it quite often back in the day.

Edit:
If ye can't find it send me a pm.

I have yet to experience a 3 way FFA mission that didn't turn out to be a horrible game, and not for the lack of trying.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

The dynamic with 1v1v1 doesn't quite work out great, but I'll say 4 player 1v1v1v1s have honestly been some of the best games I've ever had; a TTS game, 1000p per player in a kludge-to-9th of the old Carnage scenario with everyone representing one of the Chaos Gods stands out.

"All you 40k people out there have managed to more or less do something that I did some time ago, and some of my friends did before me, and some of their friends did before them: When you saw the water getting gakky, you decided to, well, get out of the pool, rather than say 'I guess this is water now.'"
