70 years after the Horus Heresy, Jaghatai Khan disappeared into the Webway in pursuit of Drukhari raiders. He has not been seen since.

The most likely possibilities are that he is either still waging war on the Drukhari, or has been captured and enslaved by them (I imagine he'd make quite a gladiator). As far as I am aware, Drukhari lore does not mention him at all, though that may just be because GW prefers to be noncommittal about his fate. There's a non-zero chance that Vect secretly holds him prisoner for some convoluted purpose.

In any case, he, Leman Russ and Vulkan are the loyalist primarchs most likely to still be alive (apart from Guilliman of course).

Eh.

We don't know if that really happened. Imperial lore is imprecise and it's never a good idea to assume any given narrator is reliable.

If GW wants those Primarchs back, they have the power of retcon and will bring them back. That's really it.

He could also just be lost in the webway, given that if you have no knowledge of the subsection he was in or psychic ability to know where to activate certain parts to leave you could basically be stuck there for an indefinite amount of time.

We know Corax is still alive (and active). We also know the Lion is alive (but asleep).

A little bit of righteous anger now and then is good, actually. Don't trust a person who never gets angry.

Corax is a giant smoke monster now right?

Honestly it wouldn't bother me at all if no further primarchs ever came back. I like the whole "We may never know" aspect of their disappearance/whereabouts, and pulling back the curtain on a lot of this stuff ruins some of the mysterious appeal that 40k has always had for me.

I'm cool with it as long as new mystery replaces the old. Even something like revealing the fate of a lost primarch could enhance the dark mystery of the setting if done right.

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

He can turn into a flock of ravens made of shadows, anyway.

I'd happily go back to the days when we weren't even sure the primarchs had really existed as anything other than early space marine commanders, and the whole 'giant superheroes wrestling titans' thing was the product of 10,000 years of Imperial propaganda and superstitious ignorance.

I swear there was a piece of fluff somewhere implying there was a Primarch held in the Wych pits of Commoragh. It would make sense that it was Khan.

There is an obscure bit of fluff (I can't find it atm, but I believe it was in the 5th edition codex) which mentioned an "Immensely skilled warrior of superhuman stature," (or something to that effect) as one of the only non-wych long term gladiators. As in he's been there for a REALLY long time, and no one's managed to kill him yet. That could be the Khan, Vulcan, Alpharius, or even just some rando marine. gak, it could be a clone of Horus for all we know; Bile did study with the Hamonculi after all.
